Long story short, dropped off the truck for state inspection this morning at some random ma and pa shop down the street, I guess should have known better to take it to the dealer… just to pick it up with extremely sloppy ebrake. Spoke to the tech that was working on it, he got extremely defensive and rude saying the truck was like that when I dropped it off, not his problem blah blah blah. I can bet that he man handled the lever and popped the tension adjustment screw. Haven’t had time to take a look since that very afternoon we were leaving for vacation, the safety sticker was a last minute errand I wanted taken care of, go figure just my shit luck… has anyone dealt with that on a Gladiator before?

The ends of the cable behind each caliper have a dog leg bend that catch in what looks like an eyelet. Possibly could have not been engaged good and he popped one side out. A quick visual inspection would verify. I'm not sure about a tensioner being part of the system.

Or something with the cable/ratchet under the console. There are good posts/pictures of fixing this. It only takes a couple screws to lift up the whole center console, or at least rear of it, and use a long 10mm I think extension to tighten the cable.
I tried looking at the eyelets to tighten the cable and I couldn’t get enough slack to release and tighten them there. YMMV
