Dude, why are you working so hard to discredit??;)
Just looking for the facts. Don't understand how that can be looked down on. It took me less than 10 min to look up the dealer ask a simple question and get the facts. Thats not hard work.

I read in several threads on this forum that they were not actual end use customers. TB just has to be an adversary, mellineialism on parade, cannot find it inside themselves to be happy and get along but yell at all of us for being intolerant.

Let’s not mince words. Neither one of you mentioned anything about the Jeeps being produced “to be sold”.

It was also stated by FCA (albeit after the fact) that the trucks that rolled off the line are in fact demo units; strangely enough, you confirmed the truck that showed up in Hawaii was a demo unit. Seems like you were able to prove for us that they could in fact turn up in a week.

Now we wait and see what you’ll do to further vindicate your post and prove to the internet that you were right all along.
Demo units have been spotted at dealers for some time now. This is not the breaking news that was being pushed. It was FCA has decided to cancel 7,000 orders the the United States Government and instead send the units to dealers.

You were right the whole time.

FCA cancelled the 7k Gov’t order and sent that surplus to dealers? They must have been busy since starting the production line last week. Or do you mean the ones that came off the production line last week went to the dealers instead of the Gov’t?

Not yelling at no one. Not sure what a mellineialism is but it hurts some how.

All I did was call out the BS that I seen

-60,000 units to government before civilian orders
-7,000 units left from the 60,000 units OP states that this is verified not speculation
-FCA decides not to abide by verified contract with the government and will instead start shipping the first production Gladiators to dealers by the end of the week

So what part of this being intolerant? Toilet face.

Wait... sales manager in Hawaii who picked up the phone at a dealership, after the one thing we all have in common is knowing the dealerships have no clue what’s going on = trustworthy, factual, solid intel.

Dude on this site that literally works on the very thing you can’t wait to get your hands on, has been a good source in the past, and has firsthand knowledge of production methods = made up info, untrustworthy, bad source?

Got it.

I have called out many here for trusting a dealer on bad intel.

When you ask a dealer it the unit on his lot is for sale and he tells you no its a demo I tend to believe him.

When you talk to a dealer and he says sure I have the very 1st one for sale on my lot before the media embargo is lifted, pricing is released, ordering banks are open and I am on a Island a million miles from the factory I would say the dealer is untrustworthy source. Then I would do my do diligence to get the facts before I verify anything.

Understood. Did you happen to ask if the demo unit he received was one of the demo units that came off of the production line last week?

Edit: Honestly man, I’m not trying to argue at this point. Just trying to understand why info from JL-Engineline isn’t as trustworthy as the upstanding dealer who didn’t lie to you about the JT that he couldn’t have ever sold you anyways.

From the scenario we’re talking about, here’s how I see it: JTs off of the production line were demo units. A JT that arrived at a dealer in Hawaii was a demo unit. Without any further digging, the Jeep in Hawaii could very well be a JT off of the line, or it could very well be a demo JT that’s been floating around for months. Either one of you could be right, but it seems like we’ll never know—tonight at least!

I did not. Nor do I believe this was the intent of the OP's comment about shipping them off to dealers.

Just for the record I have been a member for a long time. I have had many great conversations with most of you here. I'm just calling it as I see it here.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think anyone involved didn’t know they were talking about dealer stock arriving to be sold—you’re right about the intent. For the sake of late night internet sport, I thought I’d bring up a technicality.

I think you saw that I was skeptical about the government purchase, but still wanted to understand your view of the OPs intel.

At any rate, I think these posts (yours included) have forced us to think things through and put the puzzle pieces in a logical order. I can’t say if we’re all trying to put the same puzzle together though...

NO! you called out what you perceived to be BS without anything outside of your opinion to go on. When you are the only one on a 14 page thread that cannot get along with everyone else...maybe you're the problem.

Is it my opinion that you can not back out of a government contract without consequences.

I’m not sure where this conversation went south...

But for what’s its worth, let me say this...

I don’t doubt that the JTs coming off the production line are going to dealerships in under a week. Let’s remember, Ohio has many dealerships. Plus, you can get a car from Ohio to Miami, or to Seattle, in a week over land. I know this, because my dad ran an auto carrier company for years. We could get a car from New York to San Francisco within a week.

Now, are those JTs to sell to you and me? No. Clearly not, there’s no pricing. At least not right now. They are clearly trainers, demos, slated for big wigs... and maybe, just maybe, those exact trucks will get sold to folks like you and me... in several months time. But not right now.

Also, no, the one that came off the line “first”, or second or third... can’t possibly be the one in Hawaii. Unless that picture was taken at least an entire week before it was posted.
Yes, can the military get a truck across the world within 48 hours? Sure. FCA is not the military, they have no need to get a car from Toledo OH to Hawaii within a week.
That vehicle in hawaii probably left Toledo a month ago. Maybe more.

My guess they got it first because it takes so long to get things over water. Any small thing can create a delay. Send it first, and hope it arrives on time! We know that there were at least 80 JTs in existence before those pictures of the “first JT coming off the production line”

In this case, it probably arrived in Hawaii several days earlier than expected, and just adds to the rumor mill!

of course, we are all speculating in good fun.
