After reading and posting in PDiddy's post about switching to a 1500 Ram, it kind of intrigued me. The fact that my wife wasn't truly happy with my purchase of my Gladiator, I thought I would check out the 1500's myself. Since she owns a 2018 JLU and I have a 2005 TJR to do my wheeling with, I was thinking we needed something more comfortable to tow the travel trailer with and to use for any long drives without. At 26' and 5,500 lbs I didn't want or need a bigger truck. I was fortunately able to find a 2021 1500 Ram Big Horn with the non e-torq V8 engine and 3.92 gears with 11,300 miles. This truck was dealer owned and looks very well taken care of. This is great forum and I definitely appreciate any help and opinions that I have received.

Good truck, fun to drive, and music to my ears with the 5.7L HEMI (I had a ‘16).

I have to assume that’s why the majority of folks end up going away from a Gladiator…better road manners and truck first (rather than Jeep that happens to have a truck bed).

Must be the camera angle, because that Max Toe looks to sit better than the Ram. Granted the Ram has the power, but Max looks happier

The picture was taken when we were picking the trailer up. The trailer was empty, and it did set pretty level. Loaded for traveling it would squat about an inch past level? I will be adding air suspension to help the softer Ram suspension.

Congrats! I love my JT but if I did any real towing I would have a 1/2 ton.

What air suspension? Just assist bags right? I just traded my 1500 in for a JTR and one of the reasons I did that is because it had the factory air suspension and it failed. When the air springs fail and you have no suspension, just the rubber stops. The service writer said it typically happens at ~80K miles. No good for towing and I shiver to think what it would be like if that happened while I was far from home.

My wife gets zero input on the vehicle I drive. Thats not even an asshole thing either. I'm a car guy...its my hobby. Like most Jeep owners.

I gained 300 lbs, the gladiator was 1,476 I think.

Well I have a 05 TJR for doing my Jeep thing and my wife has a 2018 JLU. After pulling our travel trailer a few times, I feel the Ram will do a better job with the 5.7 and be a more comfortable ride all around.

Well I agree that the Ram will pull better...thats what it is designed to do. Just sayin the wife doesn't get a say, lol. She complains, lovingly, that she hates jumping into my Jeeps...among the wind noise and any other "Jeep thing". But...sorry! Its part of me. Take it or leave it.
