Now imagine all the above with a speed limit of 80 mph that some people take as a lower limit!

I think i would have been inclined to ask charges be filed for false statements against the woman.
Officer said no witnesses and no damage so they can only go with the facts on hand. He did laugh when I asked him what a “no damage, no violation “ report was. He said they have to make a report on any calls now no longer officer discretion and he said really this report means nothing. He did say he would check to see if she has done this previously and he was pretty sure she had.

I saw a Hell Cat... I think, rip by all of us in traffic, he was in the HOV lane probably doing well over 100mph. imagine some poor Prius driver slowing for traffic with that coming up behind them.

Freeways are little more than big concrete “funnels” for mental cases.

With so many people on the brink of mental and emotional instability from social isolation, I completely avoid freeways these days.

I agree with you on that note, and believe me, other trucks get just a aggravated about that as you do. :headbang:

That said, unfortunately there are just as many dingbats driving big trucks out there as cars, and none of them should be behind the wheel of any vehicle.
You aint wrong my friend.

Chicago area freeways are insane these days. And the number of people shot on the freeways (Lake Shore Drive too) would shock you.

I hate paying taxes, but I look at taking tollways and toll bridges as the cheapest insurance I can buy

Yesterday I was on the exit and a woman (I found out later) tried to cut in front of the person behind me. Then with no where to go she decided to try and push me to the shoulder so she could get off of the interstate. She nearly ran into me, but when I stayed put (all of us on the off ramp were inching along at 1-2 mph) she falls back and cuts a car off several cars behind me and comes up the shoulder of the off ramp window down screaming and trying to hit me on the other side with her old ass Altima..

I pulled up and stopped on the shoulder now in front of her and asked what the problem was , again incoherent yelling, so I took a quick picture of her license plate. She walked around and I asked her where her car was hit (there wasn’t a scratch in my truck). She couldn’t find anything and said I hit her on her passenger side ? I’ll get to that later. Then she started flipping out again. In my head was My friend’s daughter who was shot (she barely survived, and is still recovering) a few months ago with some gang banger trying to rob her in a store parking lot. I did not trust this nut I was dealing with so I got in my truck, someone let me back in line, and went up the ramp and on my way to the bike trail.

About 15 min later I get pulled over by a sheriff. I could see another police car coming up fast Behind us. First officer said I was involved in an accident and I fled the scene, a “hit and run”. That crazy woman called the police and lied. The sheriff asked for license and my insurance then went back to his car.

So the two stayed behind my truck for 15 min. Then the other sheriff came up and said I could get out. They were looking at driver’s side where lady tried to push me over to shoulder.I asked him if I was coming off the interstate, and cutting in front of someone to get on the off ramp wouldn’t the damage be on my passenger side? They laughed and after noticing no damage to the driver’s side of my JT, and again not a scrape on the passenger side either they eased up one left and i chatted with other officer while we waited for local police since this wasn't his jurisdiction. local police Officer shows up talks to other officer looks over my Jeep goes back to his car then comes back with my info. both officers said they think this lady did a similar report a week or two ago (Also false). All the officers were very nice and the one that was first on scene apologized for being rough. he said usually a “hit and run” for them means a police chase and bad things. He said when I pulled over immediately, parked facing a field and rolled all windows down he knew I wasn’t going to take off. He said I wasn’t acting like a hit and run driver and ... no damage to my Jeep.

So long story but in the end, the local officer, gave me a “No Damage” report and said he gave the crazy lady the same report, no damage on her car, So my insurance has to take on a fight with a crazy nut with no damage to her car and no damage to mine!
I showed him pic of the back of her car with license plate and both officers said they were going to check to see if this is same women with similar report “hit and run” recently. If she did she might see some jail time... I hope!

Be careful out there and an old roommate of mine that was a metro police officer, told me this;

If you are pulled over by the police roll all windows down, turn your vehicle off, put keys on the dash and hands on top of steering wheel. This sets them at ease immediately.

Officers have a tough scary job especially with all going on in this country. I appreciate them and pray for their safety.
My wife and i have more than a combined 54 years in Law Enforcement and we have seen our share of people of all gender and ilk act foolishly, but not like what we have seen over the last year. Nuts, people are just acting crazy and women are unfortunately from what we are seeing today, leading the charge into complete stupidity. I have had two in the last week screaming at me was we drove in town. We don't get it, we do not understand what is going on in their heads when they act so foolishly, especially with people they no nothing of.... and eventually, they take on a person who is just as crazy or even crazier than they are and they pay a very dear price as we have seen on more than one occasion.

It's a tough job and these morons are making it even tougher. You did right.... And thank you for your support.

I think you would be safer on the Jeep trails
Now we just need someone to build the trails from my house to my kids daycare and school then to my work and home again. ?

Rule of thumb is don't get into a fight unless you can get out of it. Road rage has the same parameters except that 100% of the time they ain't worth a second thought. Up here in the mountains, we're on Prescott time anyways, which means I'll get there when I get there just be happy I get there. And if I'm a little late, that just means the beer ain't as cold.

Sounds like that girl you encountered is used to always having things her way, sadly THAT population seems to be growing and given free reign to operate heavy machinery. And the police are thanklessly expected to clean up the mess (cheers to them, not sure most of us could do that.) But crazy knows no borders, and vindictiveness knows no bounds. Had some old man actually file assault charges against me because he felt I "needed to be taught a lesson." Said I was reckless by my nimble avoidance of his charging over into my lane and slamming on his brakes. Seriously! Then the guy followed me into a parking lot and tried to egg me on. When I wouldn't take a swing, he made shit up. Case was dismissed with prejudice, had so many flaws in it that even with that old man driving through the holes he'd still NOT hit anything resembling a fact or the truth even if he were trying. The worst part is that in hindsight, violence was a viable option. When THAT is on the table, it's time to find another table.

All we can do is sidestep the landmines as best as possible. No law against stupid, and no hammer big enough to fix it. "There are two things on earth that are universal: hydrogen and stupidity." - Frank Zappa

Best to move on if you can. These days you never know who might start throwing lead, and even when you’ve got some you could throw back, ain‘t gonna be a winner in that game no matter what happens..

Out of their comfort zone. Covid stressors. No normal sexual activity. Crazy hair day.
