Current task : find the XY401A connector. From what I am reading, The BCM side of the XY401A connector for this circuit has the Fault Sense Wire both Base and Premium. The side that goes to the engine compartment does not for Base.

Now to *find* XY401A. Might have to sub to Tech Authority. I have the overview diagram - it shows the connector in the vicinity of the BCM and XY302 etc. I can find everything but XY401A.

Anyone ever messed with it?

I was hoping it was engine side, it's obviously interior side. I've seen pics of the airbag removed and you can't see the connector.....

Anyone ever torn down SUPER far and have any pics?

You might just want to run a new wire from the DRL to the BCM!

Look at the thread for the Euro-spec rear fog lights for some BCM tips and a link to some JL forums with more detail.

I'm debating it. Jimmy believes, and is probably right, that BCM to XY401A probably has the wires, and XY401A to DRL doesn't. That makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint. Pinning wires is easy. If I pull from BCM plug, I'll have to depin lying on my head upside down. If I can find XY401A, nothing to depin.

Yeah, that BCM connector is not in an ideal spot! Good luck...

I think I'm over it.

2 problems the way it is:

1. Diagnostics won't work without the fault sense wire. Big deal, I can check the lights all the time by staring at the car in front of me at a stoplight. I'll live with that.

2. Pin 1 ( fault sense wire, previously Side Marker Control ) from DRL harness going to BCM Side Marker Control pin on C1/A, where it doesn't belong. Going to just depin it and tape it off at the fender plug.

The end.

:)
