Anybody treat the wheel or do anything to protect the finish of your spare WHEEL while it sits unused in the spare tire location under the bed? I finally got a nice used 35 to mount to the matching (5th rim) I bought from Quadratec. Got the rim 1/2 price cause of a small blemish. Still brand new and worth trying to protect/preserve.

My question may be from way out in left field but I have had 5 Jeeps and never had a flat. I can pull it twice a year and clean it but wanted to ask if any of you do anything to protect those super expensive wheels you store in the stock spare tire location? Thanks.

( Note-The spare is just to get me off the trail or side of the road till I can get a proper repair, not for part of the rotation. (I only do a 4 tire rotation).

If it was the steel spare, I would say fluid film and forget about it. Since it is an alloy wheel you still want to keep pretty, I would just a bi-annual drop, clean and wax.

Just given the spare location, I think you have to be realistic that it will get grimy and more prone to road debris damage over the long term regardless of what you do.

If you care, ceramic coat it. Probably last 8-10 years under there
