Proximity remote unlock

My Rubicon window sticker isn’t showing that it comes with the proximity unlock feature. Can this be added on at a later time from my dealership if I decide I want this?

I don't think it's a simple or inexpensive upgrade if I recall other threads accurately.

There's a good thread on here about adding the proximity locks. I added drivers side for about $150 in parts and $70 for JScan and cable to turn it on. Works great.

Thank you where did you get the parts and JScan from?

Parts list and vendor is all in that thread. JScan is an app for your phone. You need to security cable and a bluetooth reader. There's a lengthy thread on here about JScan. The exact parameters that you need to turn on are in the proximity locks thread mentioned above.

Search function is your friend.

That's awesome and it sounds like the process has come a long way since people were first trying it.

Proximity Locks are a factory option. The dealer cannot add them. There is a thread that shows how to do it, but it's not a simple process.

Don't accept anything less than what you want. The factory only includes wiring for options ordered with the truck, so adding some items after is no easy task. Use the Jeep build and search tool. If you can't find what you want, have it ordered.

Pretty simple to add, just door handles and wire harnesses and simple programming.

And it's just the door harnesses, isn't that correct? From the door internals to where the connection is at the kick panel, nothing through the truck itself.
It's a whole lot different than when it was looked at last winter when I was unhappy with myself for not catching that the sales guy never got it added even though we told him multiple times we wanted it.

Right, just r and r the door harness and handle and program the BCM. The JL Sport S requires wiring between the door plug and the body harness.

Thanks mine is a Rubicon that had majority of the options I wanted at the price I could afford. That’s one of the few things along with an aux. group that it didn’t have but dealer is going to add the aux group later for me. I figure I could always add this as well
