If it's wireless can they then in fact hack the wireless part of the system effectively bypassing it?
My original one from them melted within months. They didn’t respond to a single email or contact form. I’m done with companies without support. And definitely companies that refuse to talk to customers.

It's just a damned relay - anyone familiar with Jeep knows that most systems disable a relay in some way. And - that's easy enough to get around.
It will be effective for those looking for quick and simple, but otherwise - anyone who can troubleshoot will know what's up.

The wireless would be fine until your remove battery went dead.

To bypass it - pull it out, plug in a standard relay, move on.
I've had to bypass relays while doing troubleshooting - an assortment of jumpers and a couple of standard relays, you are off to the races

If I want that vehicle and have 5 minutes, open hood, pop off cover from fuse panel, swap in what's needed, move on.
Since all Jeep Wranglers and JTs since 2018/2020 use the same - any smart thief after a Jeep will know the tricks. Heck, all they have to do is do an AI search and the forums will tell them.
The advantage Jeep has over many vehicles though, is the ability to lock the hood. And those relays are under the hood. Can they beat a lock? Sure. But not quickly.

The latch locks - in seconds.

The other type, which you can't use with the front cam - that takes longer

But I’m guessing they’ll move on to another one before they crowbar the hood and jack up their prize.

I supposed it depends on their goal.

They don't seem to care about broken windows - more expensive and harder to swap than a hood.

I highly doubt most thieves are bringing relays and things with them. They are picking the easiest targets. There is no perfect theft prevention device for anything, it's about making it more complicated for them so they move onto something easier.
this is just another thread among the dozen or so already, every single thing here has been covered.

Apparently in some areas - they are more professional than others. Check some of the other threads - or videos out there where thieves came one day, quit, then came back the next and succeeded.

I'd never rely on one single thing - not after seeing people spend time in parking garages (posted in the forums here) and the video showing the same ones coming back until they succeeded So did they figure out what was wrong and brought the parts with them? If they target something - they "don't give up and move to the next" - they have orders for that type of vehicle.
Sorry, I won't rely on a part that's talked about everywhere and every thief knows about and takes seconds to swap out (and is pretty standard)

They have some sophisticated electronics with them already in many cases............because they are targeting specific makes/models.

It's not like they are all just looking for "a car" - they target specific models. They become experts with that model, have orders for them. Look at the OP - hitting Jeeps. They want Jeeps - they won't move on and steal a Prius because it's really easy.

All of these things are advertised widely, people post "look what i just bought and installed" all over forums, and they see that around a dozen times, they'll be forewarned and ready.

"Hey, this device is really popular. If you find it won't crank, check the fuse panel for a fishy looking relay"
We pretty much tell them what to expect!

I’d rather swap glass any day of the week. No paint to match, or hinges to touch and adjust.

Those are a joke. Proven easily hacked in short order.
Any layer is better than not being there. But a silver bullet, definitely not.

Remember where these go...........
Not exactly to Bentley customers.

I'm still waiting for the theft deterrent that was used in Robocop to get to the market.

Remember brahs, never discuss specifics, take it to PMs. Discuss a CAN bus immobilizer in public, but not "I've got a great place to hide it - let me tell you all about it here!"
