So. Years ago when I lifted my OBS by 4” i kept the stock bump stops to take advantage of more up travel. To me the whole point of a lift is to have more suspension travel

with that preface, the other day I hit a bump a little hard, actually really not that hard at all, and felt impact to the bump stops. Totally unloaded too so once i get more weight in it can be an issue. I am surprised theres only a couple inches of up travel as it is with the rubicon

anyway. For those who put on the mopar 2” lift. I know everybody probably changes out the bump stops. Because they go big tires. I plan to stick with the stock 33’s. would the lift even work with keeping the stock bump stops to take advantage of 2” of more up travel? I think this would be super helpful for my personal application and need. But wondering if it would cause any items to bind badly. I am thinking no but gladiators are kinda rare in my area and I cant get close to any with the mopar specific lift.

thanks

I’m not sure if it would be an issue in this case, but something also to consider is the change in shock length. If you put a longer shock on you may be more inclined to bottom out that shock if the pump stop is not set correctly.

yeah good point. That was not an issue on my truck. But i got the right shocks to account for that. but i would have to get the compressed and elongated measurements for the shocks included in the mopar kit to be sure. I doubt they would work. Probably would require different shocks.

You could probably get away with less bumpstop with that kit if you’re willing to tinker. That lift comes with very modest travel shocks and I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re not using all the available up travel with that size bump.

Find a ditch, loading ramp, fork lift, or rti and take some measurements - go from there.

I take that back, though the travel is not great, it appears the 2” bumpstops are inline with the difference in compressed length.

super lame. thank you though for the information - not sure where you found that table..

I wonder if Fox has other shocks outside of the MOPAR kit that have a shorter compressed length and a longer extended length.

They do. You can get standard Fox 2.0s with better specs. I have a table saved but it on my work laptop so I can’t post it at the moment. The info is out there though.
