Questions on cooling - Mojave

I’m curious because on a normal day just driving around town my temp is anywhere between 195 and 215. And that’s not towing anything. What is the upper end of the spectrum with oil and coolant temp?

Pretty normal and under spec.
Prior to my Gladiator, I had Xtreme Recon Wrangler Rubicon and those run much hotter.
This was in normal driving taking an exit after climbing a short hill in Wrangler XR. No towing, no payload...

Normal and healthy readings. I've never been afraid to see temps like that. My first Jeep ran in the 210s consistently.
A typical thermostat from a few years ago wasn't even fully open until into the 220s.

dealers are morons. they'll probably break a bolt off in the engine block changing the alt.

Yes it did. On hot days when towing the temps were much better. I still have the 220 amp alt as well.

The only warranty that would be lost is the warranty on the original fan and alternator.........
If you use new MOPAR parts, those come with a warranty, or can inherit what's left of the truck's warranty, which-ever is longer.
But if you use used parts, you won't have warranty on those parts.

If a dealer does it - will be expensive but everything will have warranty as usual.

There's been mention of the high current fuse array being different between the two - but that was a comparison on earlier model years.
You would have to actually remove and look at your high current fuse, check the part number, etc.
All I can say for sure is that there was a difference in at least one case, earlier model year, may have changed to being the same fuse regardless of fan - maybe.

I didnt capture any photos but i dont remember it being a concern. Its always over 14 volts

I did it myself. Super easy. Follow the instructions that the other poster layed out.

"Desert Rated" means next to nothing in this context. It's an advertising thing. It doesn't actually relate to any set of standards, just what Jeep determined to be important in the design. So don't hang your hat on that.

If someone says "Mine's Desert Rated, yours isn't", the question that can't be answered is "how would one test for that?". Unlike something like the towing rating which has actual test standards to run against.

I tested the desert rating by driving freeway speeds in the dirt before the JTM had 1,000 miles on it, but who knows what their criteria is? But frankly, if I am not going to tow, but use it as a daily driver (in hot Vegas) with light off roading in the desert, and stay well within the GVWR, do I need the heavy duty cooling fan and the 240 amp alternator, or would the standard fan and 220 amp alternator suffice without any heating issues?
Am I overthinking?
