Just guessing here - they likely "stock" what they can sell to a walk-in customer who is just browsing, iffy as to whether they'd actually buy that day, and stay under some magic monthly payment.
If I were buying today - and they didn't have one with it, I'd tell them they either get me one or I'll order one with.
We did the same. No units were considered that didn’t have it and factory towing. That was the initial filter in our search. We like it as well.

DD? Yes. I like many others drive our Gladiator everyday. Here's one such example, https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/100000-mile-gladiator-owner-review/.

Can you post a video? Is it from a seam where something is not tight enough, or needing sound proofing material in the cabin?
I’ve tried a lot of stuff like that since I bought it and the dealership says ā€œit’s a Jeep thingā€. It’s not, 4th Jeep and the loudest. Anyway, it’s a pretty common issue on the JL forums and I think I have it narrowed down to somewhere in the cowl or A pillars and I need to fold down the windshield to see. Also, realigning the windshield also helps. My gaps (top vs bottom) aren’t that far off, but it’s worth fixing while I have the windshield folded down.

I agree with you. I think to most Jeep Wrangler / Gladiator buyers SelectTrac isn't on their radar. Its too bad. It should be. So no point in adding 600 to the price. My comment was more a criticism of most buyers than of the dealer. He is merely providing what the market wants to buy.

Once you have an AWD vehicle you won't ever want to go back.

During the 2020 model year, a typical uninformed salesman told me 4H auto and 4H part time didn’t exist in the gladiator. They told me it was a 2wd truck with traditional 4L as well. Therefore, I wasn’t interested in it until finding out that was false a year later. Even when we bought ours in July, many salesman didn’t even know that option existed. I tend to agree with your point though, just put it in all of them and build in the cost.

The 392 doesn't even come with 2H. Only 4A, 4H, and 4L.

I'm guessing they did this for safety reasons. That truck would have trouble putting power to the ground on a wet road.

Interesting. Makes sense though. So the 392 is officially an option for the ā€˜22 JT?

I would have purchased for selectrac option on mine if it was available in 2020. I’ve had AWD on everything from Jeeps to Audis to my previous GMC truck. I thought I’d really miss it. I actually was on the fence of getting rid of my 2017 Canyon. The really cool thing it’s that I don’t miss it. I can’t remember the exact F/R weight distribution on the Gladiator, but it’s pretty close to 50/50 and considerably better than other trucks on the road. It I had know that when I bought mine, I wouldn’t have had that reservation.

I think it depends a lot on whether or not you have a heavy right foot. If I drive a rwd pickup in the rain I'm finding the traction/stability control is constantly intervening around town. And if the nannies don't butt in, then the tires chirp or the back end steps out a bit when you hit a bump. Like when turning pulling away from a stop sign. Its annoying as hell. Anything with AWd just goes.

If It was $3000 I'd give it some more consideration. But at $600, its a no-brainer

Could be inadequate glue around the windshield. Or mine had more insulation that had to be installed in the driver's a-pillar.

Haha. No one would ever accuse me of driving gingerly. My Canyon was a handful when accelerating in the rain with the factory auto locker and the good year silent armor a/ts. I had to put it in auto 4wd whenever it rained. It got a little better when I replaced those A/Ts with a continental a/t. Same driving style on my Gladiator and I have to try to make them spin. It was like that with my factory all season tires and my Revo 3s now. The difference in weight distribution is HUGE. It’s the best thing about the gladiator that no one talks about.

It’s not the windshield because it was the same with the original windshield and my second one now. There are issues with the seals in the cowl area on a lot of them. I need to take it apart and see what’s going on. I would have done it a lot time ago if I ever thought about it when I wasn’t driving or otherwise busy.
