Current plans for the near future:
5.13 gears
High clearance rear bumper
Rock sliders
Rocker armor

Bobbed bed?
I found some threads about DIYing it but not enough info for me to be comfortable winging it yet.

Spent the last year going back and forth between 4.88’s and 5.13’s. I wanted 5.13’s since I planned on possibly moving to 38” tires next. I had heard horror stories about them breaking, but talked to the guys from my local shop (Disciple Off Road, Visalia, CA) and they said 5.13’s will be fine. I’ve seen enough of their builds that I trust their opinion so gearing is up next!
I have had Yukon 5.13s in mine for years. Funny, but I have decided to just keep them with the Hemi swap. Obviously, they are needed with 37s and the 3.6 motor, but not so much for the 500 hp 392. I decided to try to run a set of 40s to effectively cut back the gear in lieu of swapping to 4.56 (The gear my AEV came with new)
I think you will like and can feel safe with the 5.13s as long as you don't hammer the thing in low range.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like a fun thing to drive.

Thanks! It really is. Unfortunately I haven't been finding much lately.
What do you need? I have everything from a Clayton lift to tires, an engine/transmission, exhaust, steering... and on and on

Been looking for some real rock sliders to replace rubi rails for more protection. That and a high clearance bumper but I figure most who put them on don’t want to sell them lol. The trails I’ve been running have been pretty tight so have something to pivot on rod with would be helpful. High clearance rear bumper just for departure and drop offs. I talked to the owner of excessive offroad (made my front bumper) and he says he’s working on a high clearance rear for the JT.

I may be able to help out with my Metal Cloak rear bumper. I deleted my rear tow hitch since my 3.6 could hardly move its own weight, but now that I have a 6.4, I think I am going to pick up a bumper with an integrated tow hitch so I can tow a small travel trailer...
On second thought, with shipping, you'd be better off just buying yourself a new one.
I use the RSE sliders, but the stock Rubi units are good, though maybe not so much for pivoting. We don't have the same constant rocky situation that I see out west when I wheel there. I can recommend the RSE units, they're great.
In any event, best of luck to you in your quest!
