Ok, I think I settled on the RSI SmartCap for now, what do you guys recommend for mounting the RTT to the cap? I have seen two three and four crossbars as well as platform racks. I have a RoofNest Condor XL2 for mine and am looking at options for how to mount it up after I get it built. Thanks in advance for your help.

The biggest thing you need to consider is the static and dynamic load ratings of the mounting system. The cap has a static rating of 770lbs and dynamic of 330lbs, so you should be good there.

If you use cross bars, you'll need to really pay attention to dynamic load rating, as most crossbar systems are only around 120-160lbs dynamic, which is why a lot of folks use 3 or 4 bars to spread the load.

Platform racks are usually higher load ratings than bars, but ratings still need to be considered. But they allow for mounting of more things.

If you plan to run an awning be sure to include it's weight into your calculations.

I used three Frontrunner cross bars for my RTT, which worked perfectly well. They replaced the RSI crossbars, which deflected under load. Fit perfectly with the correct hardware provided from Frontrunner in the factory RSI tracks. Good luck!
