Don't take the vehicle back without a legitimate frame straightening, rear diff rebuild and 4 wheel alignment. My dad had an s-10 blazer that got rear-ended like that, fixed all the cosmetic stuff, but the rear diff blew out about 4 months later because the frame was tweaked and was wearing things hard

Could have definitely been much worse! People are assholes...Especially drunk drivers. I always leave my trailer hitch installed for this very reason.

It amazes me how the plastic rear bumper can take a hit. I'm sorry for your first vehicle crash. I've had a few over the years and it is never easy.
The damage mismatch in nearly every "I got hit" post amazes me. Of course appearances may under represent the actual severity of damage if the frame is bent or axle cracked, but still. I reckon it's a combination of the weight and frame height over the road. The gladiator seems to be a robustly built truck.
