I just purchased a RR HD rear bumper and will have to replace my Overland’s LED rear license plate lights. To ease wiring the replacement lights I would like to get a replacement wiring plug that fits into the factory harness. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement wiring plug?

Why not just wire tap it, that's all I did and it works perfectly. You can buy a pack of them for $5 at advance. I'm running the DV8 rear bumper on mine

I’d prefer to prewire the new lights into a new plug without cutting or tapping into the existing wires so that I can avoid environmental issues (water intrusion, corrosion, etc.)

You want have a issue, I ran my foglights wiretapped into my stock harness on my JKU for 7years with zero issues ever. That's what they are for

I'm with you. I'll be cutting my new rear bumper to allow the use of the factory LED housings. If you find the plug, please update this thread.

So after some digging around I found the cheapest option was to purchase a new rear wiring harness and wire my new LED license plate lights into it for the new bumper. I strip the plugs, solder the new lights onto the new harness and properly shrink wrap the wiring.

Total cost for the new harness is $25 (part number 68349976AC); be aware that my truck does not have back up sensors nor any active lane avoidance sensors.

I know this is a little late but after doing some research because I’m doing some work on the bumper lights for tow harness for my rv. I’ve found the plug on
license plate lights is a molex 34900-4120
Mating plug on vehicle is molex 34899-4080
Pins 2177610-3
Socket 7-145267-1
I’m not positive on this but will update after I can verify.

I ended up going with a new wiring harness and wiring new LED lights on it. Final results are excellent! I’ve also used some dielectric grease to keep water out of the connections.

Why not just cut the wires between the lights and the plug and wire the new lights into the old plug? That would give you the same security as the OEM lights.

A new wire harness was only ~$25ish. I was able to remove the old bumper and kept the wiring harness intact so that I can reinstall the bumper and lights without a lot of hassle.
