Ok, first time Jeep owner in a 21’ Mojave. I know these things are basically a Kleenex box on wheels and catch any little side wind. My question is, would a bigger/stiffer sway bar take some of the felt sway out of the truck? Sometimes in a crosswind, I feel like to the people behind me, that I look like a drunk driving down the road because of all the constant corrections that I’m having to put in the truck to stay in my lane. Thanks for any info. ???

I don't think it will help any. Unless there are strong winds to contend with, the truck should drive straight without a need for constant correction. Adjusting the tire pressure may help.

I’ve constantly messed with PSI and nothing seems to help. Anything over say a 10 mile cross wind and there is noticeable movement in the truck.

Without specifics it's hard to assess what your tire pressure may be doing - are you at 32 PSI instead of 40 PSI?

As for a swaybar, they can make a small to large difference going around a corner or towing a load, but going straight down the road, it's not going to change much - by design. Good ride compliance with softer springs, with springs functionally stiffer when offset for improved cornering performance is literally the purpose.

I put the Hellwig setup on my JTR for towing, and even at the middle setting, the bias back to oversteer is very apparent going around a corner too fast. A nice upgrade, but again, irrelevant for driving straight ahead.

315/70/17 KO2’s load range C on a Method 17x8.5 with zero offset. Running at 34 psi after chalk test.

I do not know the answer to your question, but if you figure it out, please let me know. My Hellwig did not help much.

The only thing that will help would be stiffer shocks. The Mohave is made for running across the desert with a soft compliant ride. There are trade offs for this. You’re going to get some sway on the highway with such soft suspension. No way around it.

Yeah, I figured that out. So I put Fox Elite 2.5s on this week, along with 35s. I only have about 30 miles on them so far so no real feedback yet. I will be away from home until Wednesday, but hopefully then I can get some mileage on it and see how they do.

Let me know how the new Elites work out. I’m already running 35’s.

Just wanted to see what you think of the new shocks so far? Also, what part numbers did you go with? Fox’s website is not showing an option for the Mojave front. Thanks

So far I would say they help, but driving to work this week will be a better determination. There is less bounce but still a little, so I need to play with the knobs. I really need to put my bike rack on and the fridge in the back to get a true test of it.

I have not had fronts installed yet, just the rear since I figured that is where most of the bounce is coming from. After driving for the weekend, I think I will do the front also. I need to order them this week.
