Looking at them, too - comparing. That's why I'm trying hard to get the info like installed height, distance from step to sill when extended and that sort of thing. Those are also very nice looking systems.
I prefer the Rock Slide since they are made to bash against the rocks (especially if you get the optional skidplates), but considering your wife's needs, the AMP XL might be more suitable since it has a wider step. JMHO.

Not going to be bashing up against any rocks the rubicon cost to much and my stuff is kept really clean that’s why I went with the Amp research XL power steps

Same here - may get goofy with it but there really aren't hardcore rock areas in Iowa - mostly rivers, washouts, fields, swampy and muddy areas. Just no rocky trails close by here but that's not why I got this Jeep.

The Rock Slide steps are more for the off road group and are up high , the AMP steps have a wider step that is also longer but they sit lower and have thinner metal, they are not rock guards.

I'm more concerned about packed snow, ice, dead animals, stuff in the road, etc. so either would be fine - even the latter.
Those who would take to the rocky trails obviously should choose the former.
