I’ve got the Smitty Built and was wondering if it could be mounted behind the rear passenger seat and wired in with the 40amp aux 1? I own it and it works well, just trying to have one less off-road box to throw in the tailgate.

Now you've got me going down the Morrflate road, according to their site the TenSix puts out about a full CFM more than the dual ARB at half the price. Now, granted the ARB is 100% duty cycle and the MF is 50%, but in the end for what we do, is it that big a deal? Anyone ever seen any hardmount Gladiator mounts for the TenSix? I was planning on getting molle panels for my bed and mounting a compressor to them, or maybe underhood but I don't really like the idea of all that heat.

I 100% love my morrflate TenSix (older model). With stock 33's on my Rubicon, I can go from 18-20lbs up to 37lbs in under 5 minutes for all tires combined. I could care less about the "duty cycle", cause I've never gotten close to making it "hot". It gets warm for me, but not egg frying hot like some get. Love the umbilical "4 tires at once" setup they have. Highly recommended.

After spending a couple months with the Smitty 2781 I am happy to say it works quite well! It does get pretty dang hot but for my purposes I’m satisfied. I will use it until it dies. Given the high CFM it puts out I’m now curious about pairing it with the Morrflate hoses to get a good 4 tire inflation system going without having to break the bank on an upmarket compressor.

so glad I didn’t go with ARB.

I have the Viair 400P compressor. It's speed is underwhelming (filling 37s from 9psi - 30psi and now I have 38s) but I got it cheap and it does the job. I have since paired it with the moreflate hose system so I can hook everything up and check out the undercarriage carnage while all 4 tires inflate. It takes at least 15-18 minutes but I don't really care (although I did get hailed on trying to get off the trail my last trip). I'll replace is with something higher duty when it craps out but until then it's a nice compact little set up.

Oh, and it does get hot as hell but I just leave it in the bed with the tonneau open for the trip back to camp.

I still say spend in the $300’s for a 10lb co2 setup, then maybe bring a cheap 12v inflator as a backup. I have yet to need the backup, and can air up 4 37’s at a time with my 4 hose setup, in 30 seconds. Silently, without the Jeep running.

I happen to be looking at the FiveSix option based on price, and the auto mode. I ran across this thread. Did you go with the 2781 just on $ and maybe the longer hose?

You can almost get c02 for that amount of money. That’s been my confusion. Many of these compressors cost more than a 10lb co2 tank setup, including regulator and mount.
True, but it takes up less space and it portable

That being said, I might look into C02 for my upcoming 2 door

Check out preece products. They have fantastic products and support. And their prices are a fraction of the obvious competitor. Mine takes up less footprint than the compressor I used to use. It’s taller of course, but footprint is what matters to me more.

I went with the 2781 because I found a barely used one on Craigslist for a steal and it performs pretty well!
But now I’m going through the headache of trying to mount/wire this thing in my bed because lugging it around to the front bumper and accessing the battery is getting annoying. This endeavor would cost at least as much as getting a 10lb CO2 setup so I’m possibly considering getting a CO2 + 4 hose setup and keeping the 2781 as a handy backup.

But the idea of mounting my compressor definitely seemed like a fun project since there aren’t any prefabbed bed mounting solutions for the Shittybilt. The closest I’ve found is the large bed enclosure from 813 fabrications.

That’s what I do. I bring my tiny 12v Milwaukee inflator as the backup. I have yet to need it though. With my four hose setup from Speedflate, I can air up 4 37’s in 30 seconds. And I can do it probably close to 10 times. I’ve never emptied the tank; so don’t know how many for sure. It’s so cheap to fill it that I just fill it before any major wheeling trips.

Thanks for the update. Something more to consider ?
