So it's off-topic since it's really not about Jeeps or drones, it's about SNOW!
YEAH!!!! We finally got some - about 7" or so - hard to tell because the ground was warm, the air was warm, when it started so the first inches ended up as slush and packed fast, making the total look like a lot less snow.
it was wet and heavy. I got to the top of our driveway and the Jeep stopped solidly - the snow was just too heavy. So I had to back up and push just about 1/3 of the big pile on across the road.
We need all the moisture we can get - we've had nothing for rain, some towns are struggling to supply water, farm ponds are empty and farmers are having to pay city water rates to water cattle and hogs.

Very nice looking. We had 5" of the stuff this past week. We got 3" before it switched to rain, then back to snow and the temps. Dropped. What a heavy/wet mess. Thank God I got the driveway cleared before it froze up solid.

You are lucky they allow you to push snow across the road. They don't allow that here. Nice drone shots. How do the gutters look? ;) been considering a drone myself but I suspect it will wind up sitting on a shelf once the newness wears off.

We're looking at another one starting tonight - strong winds, 7-10" snow, cold/dropping temps, they are calling this one "blizzard".
I tried to make sure the drive was as clean as possible again this AM.
The first was so heavy and wet, it is making the poor evergreen trees sag badly, crews are out trimming branches from wires........

I never got around to checking the rain gutters - and now with the snow, won't likely see them for a few weeks!
Dang, my fingers got cold working the remote for that drone.

We had to get some meds and a few groceries so my wife suggested we got this morning before the hammer drops. I said she'd have to drive - and she thought I mean my truck - I said not unless you want to FREEZE as with the plow on the front the thing sucks engine bay air forward making the temp sensor show that it's 100 degrees outside, so the HVAC won't work and the engine runs at about 210 much of the time.
No matter how i angle or position that blade it does that, so when the blade is on, we don't drive the truck much. So we took her perfectly clean purple JLU out and she reminded me I have to make it clean again when it dries/warms out.

Depending on the area, I can sort of understand why........ and there's some here who do it and don't clean up their trailings as they shove it across and you have two big humps that can throw some vehicles. I try hard to make sure i clean up after myself - make it as if I was driving my Javelin across it or something (with about 2" ground clearance)
The other aspect, besides the mess some non-caring people make, it's risky when there's any traffic. You have to make sure no one is coming, that you can get across, stop, raise blade (or raise is as you stop) then back up into your driveway off the road. If I can see a vehicle coming, I don't continue across.
Some just don't give a rip when doing their own, then there's those who make more money when they can clear a drive and move on to the next, so they don't give a rip about the mess in the road - or approaching traffic. A few around here just keep on coming onto the road even as you approach. Fortunately, those few are rare.

Sounds like she’s liking her Jeep still. Wish my wife would care more about her car. She washes it like twice a year unless I get disgusted and do it myself. I think secretly that’s her plan. Oh, the other thing is dang near every time we take her car somewhere and I get in and start her up, no word of a lie it’s a damn near certainty that the “maintenance required” light is on.

Glad you are getting some moisture. Every little bit helps.

Where I live at. We have a "No Drone Fly Zone". "If it flies. it dies". The neighbors like to blast them with their shotguns. It's more fun than shooting trap. LOL

Only lost traction when I got to the top of the driveway with a mound of snow so big it was coming up over the hood and got stopped solidly then traction control lights came on. Backed up a bit, moved over slightly and dropped the blade and ran it again.
Drift in front of the garage was over my knees. Rammed through it fine with snow flying and even my wife, watching, said it seemed the truck did great and wasn't having any trouble. Thought I was going to bust something on the blade, though as I wasn't able to raise the blade unless I backed away from the snow a couple of inches, then ran again to stack it.
I would have busted a receiver mount plow to pieces.

I've always wondered if the outside temp sensor could be relocated.
If it can, please let me know!
We need to make a bit of a shopping trip tomorrow and because I have the plow on, we don't dare drive my truck - we'd freeze. But it also causes the engine temp to run higher because of the low pressure created ahead of the grill.
But if I could relocate that temp sensor, I'd be all over it. Finding a location is where I'm stuck.

Looks like that will have to wait until a warmer day.

The plug and wiring for it pop out next to radiator on driver side. Probably taped to a larger harness in the engine bay. If it is a lone run mated to a larger harness, might be able to carefully extract it and relocate it elsewhere.

In between the wipers below the windshield is where I was thinking.
Only one thought goes along with that - and it may be a nothing, I may be over-thinking, but I sometimes wondered if the placement behind the grill, protected under the hood but exposed to outside air - no chance of sunshine hitting it directly. May be a non-issue. Just tossing that out there.
I sure don't have any better ideas.
It's going to be extreme cold for a while this week and I can't get to my shop until I clear out some 3'+ drifts (leaving out getting my car out and putting the JT in there to work in the warmth)

This is something of great interest.

Depending how it's parked and surroundings, direct sunlight can hit it in the location it's at.

So I don't think that's part of it.

Also, where it's at, with no obstructions in front of it, it can get a skewed reading this time of year. Windchill affects everything. Don't know if it can become iced over where it's at now, but I would think so.

I suppose that's possible. And when you shut down, you have the engine heat warming it, coming out from the engine bay.

That area is an interesting thought. I never bothered looking when I had the grill off a year ago running the plow wiring - to see if there's a connector near the sensor or not. If there's a connector specifically for the sensor, then one could buy the mating parts and make a longer lead to move it and leave the stock wiring alone.
I now wish I had looked at that.
Would much rather be driving my JT tomorrow than a 4xe with COLD batteries

Isn't your plow a quick disconnect? That should only take a few minutes to remove.....right?
