I only tried remote start at the dealer when I picked mine up. Now it's getting very cold out, so ideally this would be the time to use it. Well, it doesn't work now. My procedure: Gas tank is at least half full, everything is shut off. Parking brake is on. Doors are closed and locked. I press the start button twice. I only get 1 beep. Then nothing. The screen doesn't say anything except to press foot on brake and push button.
What's going on? I haven't removed my doors at all, so all connections should be good.

I press the lock button once immediatly followed by the start button twice, perhaps too much time delay between locking doors and double tapping the start button?

Did you touch your ecu like program some stuff? Because if you do and deactivate ā€œESSā€ your remote start will not work.

Many things cause RS to fail. Check engine lights, low battery.
Have you done any recent work to it like disconnect the battery? That can throw a code for awhile.
Have you run the vehicle for awhile to ensure the battery is charged? Is the battery older than 6 months? Could be a dud and needs to be replaced.
Any check engine lights recently? Gas cap screwed on tight?

Good luck. Last resort, dealer will get it working under warranty.

No codes or lights, truck is 5 months old. I drive it pretty much daily. I'm going to check some things on my Jscan and see if I can get it working. The dash doesn't say anything about remote start failure.

Yea and your doors don't even have to be locked. It'll lock them automatically when it starts up. My truck is in the garage and I always leave it unlocked. Remote start only doesn't work when I'm low on gas or try to open a door before it turns over. Gotta be the jscan...

Like I’ve said. Thats the issue where you are having now. You need to activate your ESS. The auto start/stop is somewhat connected to the remote start

Just a quick note, I have the Smart Stop Start module and my remote start works fine, so that may be an option for you if you can clear your ECU.

Hmmm, I’ve just been pressing the remote start button twice. The truck starts but not before alerting everyone in my ā€˜hood from the horn honking... I’m going to try your method, thanks!

You can disable the horn honking from the settings in the UConnect. I just learned that a couple of weeks ago from a thread here.
