That is news to me! I didn’t realize that it’s just programming if you have proximity doors. My Mojave did not come with the cold weather package.
You have to have the key fobs too. This assuming you already have the RF Hub and antenna.

You can verify if you have the required parts or not by looking for the remote start antenna (#5) behind the plast panel. I was told that if you have this you have are set. If you have the Gladiator Zip File that is on here you can go to the corresponding Engine 3.0L Starting (Service Information) file or the Engine 3.6L Starting (Service Information) file and read all about it.

Did you look over the options before purchasing?
Unfortunately I did not. Owning a Ram 1500 and an ecodiesel, both with the remote start, I assumed that it would have it?

Based on his description, I would think Ely or Elko could be good candidates.
I live in Ely. I'm still waiting for my HPFP recall work to get done and I've been bugging them for the past year. The "mechanics" here suck and can hardly read. Nobody in town will trust them to repair their vehicles or work on them. I guess we will have to bite the bullet and drive to either Elko or Vegas

I got an EcoDiesel Rubicon without the cold weather package. Looked at too many different build outs and spaced it.
I added the Start-X from Amazon like others. Super easy, just watch the YouTube video on programming it.

For the price it absolutely cannot be beat.

Apparently we ended up with one without the cold weather pkg due to it being bought in Vegas, 4 hrs to the south of us?. I'm hoping that the viper system will work, still haven't gotten a response from them.
It isn't because you bought it in Vegas. Mine has a remote start on a Sport S. I can probably guess which dealer you bought it from to not have remote start.

A lot of vehicles for dealer lots are bought without some of the options, no matter what part of the country you live in. Even here, some don't get those packages. Some prefer to save the money and don't feel a need for it - and the dealers know that. It gets people on the lot due to lower prices, too.
So it's not because of "a certain dealer" - it's just how it goes.

There was a dealer here that before the GM left got an order of 100 JTs put through. I heard a lot of them did not get the remote start on them.

Dealerships have it down to a science for the most part and know what moves in their area and at what price point and order accordingly. Sometimes though, there is parts constraints and they are forced to leave off items that customers in their area would expect.

You heard a lot of them didn't because that's the norm. It's not special or unique to them. That's how dealers order for the lot - like @Hootbro said, it's just how things are for inventory.
It also keeps their inventory costs down a bit, brings people in to look at low cost on the lot vehicles - and then the sales people can either upsell, or have a fast sale because it's a lower cost vehicle.

It's been tough for me to find something "on the lot" at a dealership because they are always missing something.
My wife always bought off the lot but again, we had to have something added, or did without something.
These days, we're more picky and won't buy if it's not got what we want....................
(except for the purple JLU - there wasn't one in the entire country, not a single one in ME, CA, FL, WA, AK, TX, nowhere, so we had to get one without ACC and automatic high beams. Parts weren't available when that short run of reign Wranglers was made. We had to do without to get the color my wife wanted)

And of course - one needs to be careful of what "one heard". There's a lot of that in the Jeep world.
