2020 JTR, 45,xxx miles, build date 10/2019. What is this? Where does it go? Was removing main battery for replacement and as I lifted battery out, i heard something rattle around in the bottom of the battery tray. Found this and can't figure out what it does or where it goes.

BTW, this was the OEM battery and was still working other than showing 11.7 volts prior to start and ASS screen always said "Battery Charging"...and yes, I isolated the main battery from the Aux batt during road testing.

Something they put on at the factory to hold the terminal onto the battery post. It got broken off during the removal. It is not needed.

I swapped batteries on both of our ‘21 gladiators, and don’t recall running into that thing; does anyone know if they stopped putting this thing on the gladiators at some point?

Thanks! Now I know why it was so difficult to detach the positive terminal.

Yup, did the same yesterday and the positive terminal didn't want to come off. Lifted the battery out and found the plastic piece on the tray.

Yes, I had mine come off as well? I wasn’t able to pull the terminal until that thing popped off. I kind of put it back on when I tighten the terminal? So what is the point of that piece if it doesn’t allow you lift up the terminal from the battery post?
