From the schematic of the relay, pin 85 shouldn't draw full current since its not connected to the light itself. pin 30 is where the battery connection needs to come from (or AUX1) and that goes to 87a when "off" and 87 when "on" (85 trigger)

I would definitely use a quality relay with a clamping diode across the coil to prevent the collapsing coil magnetic field from inducing a reverse current in the line when power is dropped.

Now that sounds like something Scottie would say in Star Trek

looks like I might be able to get a dioded 5 pole relay, I'm going to see if i can get one of those and then it will be more plug and play.

One nice thing about the HF Relay harness was that it was pretty easy to remove the switch. They also made the power wire so you could swap it on the relay in order to make the lows constant on.

The relay that comes with the HF kit is an HKE CMA31-A. Their data sheet seems to indicate they have a CMA31-A-D which has the diode integrated, but I’m having a hard time finding that model.

Eyeing these, but want to put them through my light controller. My plans were maybe wire the backlight to fuse maybe, not sure if i would bother though. Then to wire just the hi-beam up to my light controller switches. Would probably just wrap up the low beam wire end and not care about it.

How'd you end up making out with these?

Pretty stoked to be able to snag these today. I’m going to get them wired up this weekend. They have hi, low beams and a running light. Harness is really nice, but I’m going to cut out the switch. Comes with a 5 pole relay and a tap for the running light.

I just grabbed 2 of the 4s myself. pretty excited to see how they perform. The build quality and brackets seem super nice.

I’m thinking of grabbing a couple of the 4 inch lights and mounting them on my old TJ. Probably on the cowl. I have some Baja Designs LP6s on my Gladiator, but don’t need anything that nice (expensive) on the TJ.

So far just wired up to aux switches, but they are excellent. The biggest wow for me was the side firing. When I turn them on, just the lows, its like I'm in this well lit room. The spots just add to the distance the cover. I'm very impressed

I purchased the 6's yesterday and the harness today, Test fitted them on the bumper this afternoon. I have no idea about wiring these thigs up. Don;t like the idea of running the single switch that comes with the roadshock edge wiring harness, I'm sure I can install a Voswitch JL400 or JL800, after that i'm at a total loss. I need someone to publish an offroad lights for dummies for this install. If someone in my area could give me a hand would compensate you with a bottle of your favorite drink (with in reason or some $) I would really like to try this install solo but need some good direction, Thanks fellas

With that remote switch setup, that would work great. i could tell you how/where to cut off the switch from the harness. things i'm trying to work out is how to activate the spots with my highs. for now i have everything tapped into aux switches since i'm not using them. eventually i'd like to get a dioded relay as mentioned before to protect the high beam line. and figure out where to tap that and the running lights from :P
