Read 30 pages of "Which Bumper should I buy?" threads. Didnt see a single person running a Rock Hard 4x4 Mid Width bumper, so ???? Anyone have one? I know their sliders are highly regarded and I have a set on order but it doesnt seem their bumpers are as popular. From a construction standpoint they are about the heaviest constructed I have found being all .250" welded steel with 1" double welded tabs and integrated skid plate, 137 lbs. Not cheap right at $900 but comes powder coated. Thoughts?

I can’t speak to the mid width, but I ran their steel full width on my JLUR. Also had their steel rear bumper, too. That bumper is stout and heavy. the construction of their bumpers is awesome. i had to use an engine hoist to install it by myself though due to its heft. It fit like a glove and the integrated skid plate was perfect . I can’t speak highly enough of it. I traded the JLUR for my Overland and now that bumper just sits in my garage mocking me waiting to be installed on the JT. But its so heavy and the Overland’s springs are so soft I don’t want to mount it, especially since the my JT won’t be going in the rocks like the JLUR did. In fact, Iā€˜ve got the front bumper listed for sale here in the Marketplace, but OK is a bit far from PA.
I read a post (not sure if it was on this forum or a wrangler forum) about a few people having issues with rust and the quality of the powder coating, but I have to say mine went through a Pennsylvania winter without issue. Still looks new when you wash it up and no signs of rust. The rear had a bit of rust in the built in hitch; looked like the powder coated didn’t get all the way in the 2ā€ hitch tube. But the front was flawless.

if you want a tough, well built 1/4ā€ steel bumper, I would not hesitate to pay the price for the Rock Hard 4x4 bumper.

I have the full-width, but in aluminum. I can't speak to anything related to durability as I haven't tested it yet, but the design, quality, and install (which I believe is the same for mid-width) are top notch.

+1 for the Rockhard aluminum. I've got a Warn VR winch in mine as well. Super pleased with the construction and quality of the bumper.

Team,

Just picked up my Rockhard Aluminum Mid-With bumper. Will be installing it this weekend with a Warn VR EVO 12S winch. Do y'all have tips on install methods? Install winch on bumper 1st? How did y'all route the power cables to the battery? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thoughts/opinion on the rear bumper?

I have the mid wide aluminum front, and debated about whether the rear would be worth it for a rubicon. If it was aluminum I would lean more towards it.
