I got no issues with the duck, just not into the duck myself, and definitely not into decorating a dashboards with the duck but yeah…..this is happening.
Yesterday evening wife, me, 4 & 8 year old load up with bikes and head off. Me and 8 year old dip out on bikes to ride, meet wife and 4 year old at park across town, she has the JT. Afterwards retreat from the park and head to DQ. Have ice cream, some super nice folks come up and they have blue JTM and we chat for a bit, now technically the truck didn’t get ducked but he gave the kids ducks and told them to put them on dash. Wife puts them up there because the kids demanded it. Today I’m thinking ducks have to go…..my 4 year old who is ridiculously smart for 4 caught me red handed with the ducks coming into house. He proceeds to tell me they go in the “grey ga” which is he calls the truck. He doesn’t stop there, oh no, he says “come with me daddy” walks me out to the truck and practically yells at me pointing and says “I told you the ducks go there”, and he wasn’t going back in house until the ducks were in there and I walked away from the truck. He’s been out a few times just to make sure the ducks are still there🤣 So guess I’m part of the dashboard duck clan, just need to learn the secret handshake.

Lol 😂
Now you’re stuck with the ducks until they graduate high school! lol 😂

It’s the little(simple) things like that- these are the meaningful things that the kids will remember for a long time and then laugh about when they are young adults! Keep doing those simple things. They mean more than you realize now. 👍

Yeah I’ve been laughing about it all day, just having a 4 year old give me the what for over ducks is priceless. No doubt the ducks stay.

Not into the ducks so when I get them my Springer gets them next. Then I clean up the remains.

Welcome to the club, if you wanna go all in you can purchase some from Amazon and your kids will enjoy giving them out also! I was like you and not really into it but my kids loved it and its a way to have the family invested some into the gladiator as much as me.

Well, a hotel in Wisconsin back in early 2000's gave out different little rubber ducks, and other animals. I had some from there in a few months time, they were in my LJ, XJ'S. I had a little G.I. Joe in my XJ too that was put on my door handle some time in late 99 or so. On occasions I relocate ones placed on my Jeeps on someone else's jeep.

I want to move the ducks to my five-niner. It deserve some ducks considering Chrysler made less than 15K of them. But then I’m worried the duck trend here would get a life of its own and then people will start ducking Rengades and Compass’s and that would be sad, truly sad. I’m mean I can’t imagine the horror of dashboard full of ducks in a Renegade. Speaking of those, today I saw a white one on a lift with some weird ass desert tan beadlock, flat faced wheels, a push bar with 7inch lights on it. I got this strange twitch, started to pinch my earlobe and scratch myself all over…..and it wasn’t meth.

Oh you need to visit KY, TN, GA, FL and AL. you can see a lot worse. I gave up a duck to my friend's son's soon to be wife she has a Renegade. 🤫
Worse yet, a couple years before the launch of the Gladiator's I almost bought a Renegade. Thankfully I got cold feet on it a few days before delivery. 57 mile commute to work then back in my Wrangler at 16-19 MPG's. Driving that daily can make someone make concessions. At least the Renegade is built so someone over 6ft tall can drive it comfortably.

Thats why I’ve been leaning hard on the JT as a daily now, really hard. Around town I can squeeze 18.5 pretty consistently, a ZJ couldn’t do that parked with engine off. The ZJ’s require selling body parts on the Chinese black market to keep driving and I’ve run out body parts. Cost of living has encroached so damn much now they just sit….a lot, and it’s really depressing. Just about all off-road adventures this summer have been with ATVs, which I always have done that’s not unusual, but just as much is done with Jeeps too. I sold a KLR 650 four years ago and regret ever doing that now.

I’ve only put 500 miles on my new Gladiator, and been “ducked" once. I immediately gave that duck to my three year granddaughter when I got home. She was thrilled, and it was quickly adopted by her existing bathtub menagerie.

Thankfully, the 2024s don't have a huge storage area on the dash and the ducks slide off all of the time. The kids thought that is dangerous, so now my glove box is full of ducks...

That is how I ended up with a Gladiator. I was talking numbers at a Cadillac lot for an XT4 and a Gladiator rolled by with no doors and 3 flags blowing in the wind. My 4 year old would not hush about it... so here I am with a Gladiator :)
