RSI SmartCap with Frontrunner and Overlandpros 270 6K awning

I figured better to post a separate thread on this rather than spread throughout the 100+ RSI page.

As with other brands similar, the factory mounting brackets won’t work without spacers. I sourced my own hardware and have reinforced rubber strips I cut to length and used a hole saw to make the holes.There is no issue being able to torque down the nuts as this rubber is SOLID. I prefer to use this mount rather than the frontrunner mounts, these spread the clamping force better and the material itself it’s thicker.
Now I’m waiting for a buddy to come and help hold the awning up for final placement.

Mounted but need to do a bit of fine tuning adjustments but it’s on and secured. Will take better pics tomorrow.
It just barely touches the bag with side window open. If using the lower mounting hole obviously it’ll touch and will restrict glass from fully opening but we’re talking not even an inch of travel.

Thanks for sharing. I have a sting gray Rubicon and am looking to add a smartcap evoA next year so it's good to get an idea how it'll look.

I'm surprised that you needed spacers because it has you pick what truck you're ordering for.

Oveall how hard was it to install? Also what awning?
