Hey guys, has anyone given some thoughts to bolting traction boards mounting pegs to the metal side doors of the smart cap? I'm in a position where I can really fit anywhere else. I don't always have them on the truck but I recently did a long trip packed with gear and they ended up in the bed. Long story short I had to pull them out for a friend and had to first remove a bunch of bags and gear to put my hands on them.

I plan on doing what your describing However I want to go with a product from expedition essentials where they will have a regular lock and are secure. The only downfall is that they may require heavier duty shocks for the side doors which they will recommend some and they are currently only available for the Maxtrax MKII and currently not the extreme.

Hmm I got MKII's.. I didn't know that product, did you check that the bracket fits the doors already?
regarding the shocks, are they required even for 2 boards? I was actually thinking of putting 2 on each side due to concerns that the 4 stack might reduce the view in the side mirrors.

I'm going to do the same thing since it will look much better having two on each side which will balance it out. I reached out to them on instagram and they confirmed that it will fit the RSI SmartCap EVO A. I'm not sure if you would need the heavier duty shocks with only two mounted. There's a couple of you tube videos on this as well if you want to see how it works. They show it mounted on the Alumcab but same concept. To get them down you just unlock it and pull down the lever, no messing around with pins. Looks like a much better solution to me.

I ended up getting mine at Accessories Inc. I had to a few weeks for it to arrive. They had a prior shipment already on order so I lucked out otherwise it would have been months. Got the EVO Adventure. Not sure if they offer a military discount I doubt it, but doesn’t hurt to ask. Off-road Alliance says they offer military discounts but it Varys upon product lines.

I ended up going through off-road alliance. No sales tax charged was as close to a discount I could find. Should be shipping mid March timeframe from what they told me.

I ordered last week & the site listed May 30 estimated, really hoping they meant March lol.

I was quoted and ordered on 10 Feb, mid March was what I was told when I placed the order and within a day moved to May on the website. So I am really hoping it ships in March.

Honestly trying to be patient, just the ambiguity around these dates are a killer. Is the Feb shipment in and spoken for? Is there a March shipment expected? Do you have cutoff dates for orders to fall into a certain shipment?
help set expectations please.
