So as you know, the only (that I know of) dedicated lift kits for the JT diesel is from Mopar. But I, like many others, would rather spend a few extra dollars and get something a bit better. I stopped by my local "Extreme Outfitters" off-road shop but was told that they would not do anything but the mopar lift as anything else brings "too much liability" and "I've seen all the damage that comes from frankenlifts". I read this as "we really do not know what we are doing and only specialize in mall crawlers", but I'm curious if this is something I will find by some, many, most other off-road shops?

I'm willing to wait until someone comes out with a diesel specific lift, but would like to get it done sooner than later and have been tempted just to get the mopar done (if I can find it). Thoughts?

I would wait until a reputable company develops one, then grab some buddies and beers on a weekend to do it yourself.

Off road shops go one of two directions:

1: Glorified bolt-on specialists. I would personally never spend my money at one of these.
2: Full-zoot fab shops that can do anything, but are best valued when building a custom suspension with coil-overs and air bumps.

So far my responses from the following have been as such:

Teraflex : Same lift as gas truck, but add 3/4" spacer on top of spring
Metalcloak: Same lift as gas truck. Kit seems to work great, but sits about 1/4" lower than the gas trucks.
Evo: Should have springs ready in 4-5 weeks, but other than that it will be the same kit.

To me I'm not seeing enough variation to be terribly concerned about either a stiffer spring in the front or a spacer. It doesn't sound like you are going to be able to get an off the shelf kit that is that much different, so why not Frankenlift it a little if you so desire. This is all based on conversations I've had over the phone with those three companies, so take it for what it is.

Whatever you want...I can supervise!
The AEV home site has their 2.5 inch dual sport suspension for the gas JT...but states it is not adequate for the diesel...but they are working on a suspension lift for it.

Yes, D. Harriton (AEV founder) recieved the first JTDR in western Montana in early December (I was #2). In January he posted pics on his instagram of his JTRD with the early-production diesel specific lift... I think it's the 2.5"

I've seen other posts on this forum that in late January people were able to dealer-order their diesels with the AEV package that includes the lift and 37's... e.g. their JTD's get delivered to AEV for installation prior to owner delivery. So they have to have some of them in production already for the special package builds... just not on the website for ordering yet. But should be soon!?
