I'm currently negotiating with a dealer outside Denver for this Rubicon;
https://www.jeep.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=1C6JJTBG6LL163128
They have come down to $48,101, $6429 off of MSRP and I'm qualified for a good rate for 72 months. How does everyone feel about this deal? They're also trying to charge me a $599 doc prep fee which I keep bringing up and the dude keeps deflecting on.
I'm also looking at a Sport here;
https://window-sticker-services.pse.dealer.com/windowsticker/jeep?vin=1C6JJTAG5LL179838
I'm still waiting on numbers from the other dealer on this, but they said yesterday around $44,500 before everything else. I don't really feel like I need the Rubicon, but if I can get a good deal on one and it's got almost everything I want, why not.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

You will see the Doc Prep fee at most every dealer. The amount will vary, but it's their way of recouping the cost of running the finance and other departments. It increases the overall profitability of the dealership.

To most dealers, their document fee is chiseled in stone so do not expect much movement on that.

Ask them for a final price , all fees included. They may try to add on other extras.

I see the Rubicon is orange. I assume you like that color, some don't. You can use that to your advantage in negotiation.
Plus, take a second look at if you really want to finance a vehicle for six years. That is a looooong time.

I have been shopping for a Rubicon around Denver the last few weeks. I also got offered the $6,400 off. I think that is the easy discount with Chrysler incentives. I have been holding out for a better deal. I don’t think they are moving much inventory due to shutdown. They say they are super busy but I have driven through a couple lots and service area is packed but sales areas have cars backed up to doors so I doubt there is much activity going on. I don’t think dealers are struggling yet, they just got PPP loans to cover payroll and interest for 2 months.

I like the orange, gator is my preferred, but this one is optioned the way I want. As for the term, that's what we've done in the past for a lower payment. We end up paying off early, but there's been a few months where it's been more comfortable to have a lower minimum payment.
