This is documented many times in the JK forums, but I haven’t seen it here. You can gain 2” of extra clearance between your sway bar motor and the ground by replacing 1 bolt. I bought these at Ace Hardware for under $6 and flipped mine today. This will allow the skid plate to be raised for increased front clearance in rocks.

Did the same when i installed my Metalcloak front bumper, took all of 5 minutes. What took the longest was waiting inline at the hardware store.

I tried doing this when I installed my Arcus bumper. However, the winch plate got in the way and I couldn't flip the swaybar QD motor.

Same here. I didn't have a sunken winch on the JK. This won't work with 90% of sunken winches bumpers I've seen.

True. I’m using a bumper with top mounted winch.

I dont think this Mod adds much anyways because if you are ever in a position where your Swaybar disconnect is about to rub on something, you have bigger problems to worry about.

My skid plate says it wants to be higher...

Stupid question, why wouldn’t it be like this from the factory?

I have no idea why they wouldn't do this from the factory. It would be interesting to hear what their logic was in orienting it the way they did.

The Mopar metal Rubicon bumper has a winch tray where the actuator would rotate to.

I did mine. Couldn’t find those nice sleeves so I have a “lock” nut for now. This let my Evo quarter pounder bumper fit with minimal modification. Bumper manufacturer said to flip it the other way but saw no way to do that.
