Rugged Ridge Arcus winch block off plate

I debated over and over if I should build my own bumper since I have a plasma CNC table. But after adding it all up it's tough to be the price of the Arcus bumper having all the pieces needed to mount the winch plus the 1" thick hooks.

But in my research for bumpers, I see others looking for block off plates if they aren't going to install a winch. Who wants a block off plate that will install where the fairlead goes? And after my bumper arrives I will look into how to design a plate to fill in the winch opening.

I'd be more interested in a top cover plate for the arcus. That opening is huge

I just bought a cheap fairlead license plate mount(since I need a front plate here) to cover the front opening

Only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on the Arcus is no cover plate. I have a hitch mounted winch I swap between my tractor and my Gladiator, so no need for the winch mounted bumper.
I've looked at every bumper out there and generally, if I like the looks, it has the big hole in the top.

Defintely let me know if you decide to make one!

Bumper arrived, working on ideas now. I'll try and do a super basic block off and ill one that will work on with all the curves.

Here is the simple cover. With all the bends and angles of the bumper it actual looks fine to me. I made the front cover too which will push up on the top plate. Im thinking this will have to be a two piece design.

Let me know what you all think. I don't want to put too much time into this and make it complicated if you are ok with this I can make more. Its cut from 14ga steel the bumper is made from 11ga so it's slightly thinner. I can cut it from the same material if you like.

Had a few issues with the install. But my main issue is, how are you guys with Badland Apex winches fitted? I couldnt get grill back on unless i take off the control box. And now control box wont fit. Power wire is too tight between winch housing and lower grill.

Did you ever get it to fit again as I am about to look at possibly installing the APEX and RR Arcus Bumper.

How did the final turn out

I had to drill a hole out the side of the control box cover for the power wire. And I made 1/4" thick plates to push the bumper away from the winch a bit. Message me direct if you'd like a pair of the plates.

Since I can't put the winch in for sometime how did the plate work out. Is it possible to get one as I need something to cover up that hole till Winch goes in.
