Trying to solve the pervasive problem of how to have a Tonneau with a bed rack on the Gladiator. At this point I am looking at the Rugged Ridge Armis Hard Rolling Tonneau. With the space leftover on the side of the bed rails, I am looking at mounting some of the Front Runner rails. The picture shown is their kit from the Chevy Colorado, but is there any reason you couldn't install a similar setup on a Gladiator?

What do you guys think?

I’m in the same boat. Planning on building my own rack with 8020 extruded aluminum. Plan is to have the rack easily removable. 8020 would make it easy to have a half rack, and full rack option with minimal cost increase.im currently between the armis hard rolling or the Bak x4 cover

I didn't end up ordering a rolling cover or these rails/rack yet. Now that the frontrunner rails are available for the Diamondback, I am also considering that option. I keep debating back and forth on if a hard cover or a rolling cover is better.

I personally find I load large items often, so having the rolling cover makes it never an inconvenience. I’d hate having to install and remove the diamondback cover frequently. But each use case is separate.

Yup, that is the current bit I am weighing. I have a motorcycle, but at most that is 2-3 times a year getting loaded up. Other than that I moved an air compressor once... maybe some furniture. Since this is my first truck, I've been "borrowing" a buddies truck any time I needed to haul anything. And even then we often got a trailer too so that we could haul things that won't fit into a truck bed. So once I factor that in...

It really is a toss up. I love the convenience of a roll up, though I am not a fan of the velcro on the Rugged Ridge (I changed my mind after seeing it and posting this thread, but there are other options out there). But being able to have 100% security, the option to sit/stand/bolt things on to the cover, etc... But then again the cost is much higher...

Its a constant loop in my head, seeing it one way and then another. I'll buy something eventually I'm sure...
