Anyone else mount one of these on their JT? I just sold my OEM soft rolling tonneau because I got a great deal on a new Rugged Ridge Armis Hard Rolling tonneau cover. It is a great concept, but so far the implementation has me very frustrated. After my initial install yesterday, I tore it apart and started over. The actual rails don't seem to truly cover the entire bed sides. There is a thick rubber seal that sticks to the side of the bed that I assume is to be a water seal, but it rained today and I have water in my bed.... just sitting in the driveway not even driving. In addition, the weather seal was twisted and kind of cheap, so I went to Home Depot and bought some D-Seal weather seal to improve the weather "tightness" of the bed.

Looking to see if anyone has suggestions on how to waterproof this tonneau. Starting to think I should not have given up my OEM tonneau cover. Not happy with the Rugged Ridge design - only upside is that I did not spend the $1099 MSRP for it.

Definitely requires some tweaking. I didn’t use the foam strips either and have been planning on using a seal similar to the one you mentioned. Do you have photos of how this new seal looks?

Hey bud, I also installed the RR Hard Rolling Tonneau (right before the first snowstorm in November) and have experience the exact same water leakage like you did.

I didn't make any measurements so good on you for figuring out about the tapering of the cover (as you mentioned in the "TO" thread). I never checked whether it's due to the shape of the cover or the bed. Anyways I too had trouble getting the end to lock, especially when trying to keep what little weatherstripping on bed rail caps as much as possible.

Unfortunately I don't have any good suggestions on getting it sealed. Soon as it warms up more I'll likely follow your approach and replace the weatherstripping with D-Seal. If needed, I might just seal the edges around with clear silicon caulking. Kinna sucks having to do this on a pricey tonneau. However, other aspects of the RR Hard Rolling is exactly what I needed (a hard tonneau for camping in bear country, while retaining close to full access of the bed when rolled-up, without blocking the rear window).

I do also like the automatic locking mechanism half way down the bed. Seems to keep the cover tight against the rails with kind of like an additional anchor point.

Would love to see if anyone else might have other ideas in tackling the water leak.

Hello all. I'm new to the group and just purchased a punkin orange Gladiator. I just installed the RR roll-up fabric cover and it leaks. Mostly in the rear corners. Seems like the rain is wicking through the cover and accumulating in the straps towards the rear of the cover and dripping from there. Getting a little water in the front corners. I installed the foam rubber blocks in the front corners that came in the packing but they too seem to get saturated and drip water into the bed.

Did the D seals help that are mentioned above? Not sure that's where my problem is originating but willing to give it a try.

Just curious - what was wrong with the factory soft roll up cover? I have that and it keeps the bed pretty dry. Although maybe once we start to get into rain instead of snow I'll learn otherwise?

Rain will be a whole other issue. I have a love/hate with this tonneau. To be fair, I recently added a rack with tonneau brackets that complicate the problem. With the right seals and a bunch of monkeying around I expect to get it sealed. I am still disappointed in the base design for a Glauber though. The sales folks should be ashamed and the engineering team should have fought harder... just my opinion

So its finally warm enough to go through car washes again and the factory soft roll up tonneau cover keeps the bed dry! With no velcro or aluminum rails! I'm pretty impressed. I don't have any bed racks that would interfere. My point is - the factory soft roll up is pretty weather proof. Not perfect but pretty good. Maybe if you keep having trouble look at going back to the factory version? Good luck either way!

Reading this thread really sucks... This was the cover I had really been eying up. For the price of it, it had better not leak!

Guess I need to start looking at the other options on the market.

I believe I can get this tonneau to seal, but my posts are to let folks know it will take some work. It won’t seal out of the box. I am getting new sealing material this weekend. I have not yet begun to fight!

FWIW...I went with the Bakflip Revolver X4 and it fits great out of the box....no tweaking required.

This was the only other option I would consider...

Although, it seems that black felt type material on the inside keeps falling off. I've seen numerous reports of that.

I just installed one of these and used the same D seal but I have a big gap on both sides because the cover is not square. Any ideas on a fix
