After the last few wheeling adventures, all 4 of my fender flares were broken in one way or another. The last trail took out my passenger turn signal. I'm not ready to drop $1600 on the Moto Built fenders I want so I did some chopping today. I was able to cut out 95% of the broke stuff and modified the RR LED fender brackets. I cut the brackets down and drilled holes in them. I installed 3/4" led turn signal/running lights. Not ideal but it will serve its purpose. I love the RR max terrains but they are not very trail worthy. Definitely not worth the $700 I paid for them. But if looks are what you're after, they look awesome. Maybe these will be out of the way enough on the trail now.

Sucks to hear about this, considering I've got the same ones installed. Just haven't hit a trail since I installed them, so they still look new. Heading to Windrock end of July and Hot Springs in August, so I guess I'll figure out then if I'm ending up in the same boat.

Forgot to say your chop job looks good for DIY, I'd be ok running those. What have you been hitting them on anyway? Trees?

Thanks for the props. Yeah, trees, dirt walls, limbs and such. I can't believe how brittle these fenders are to a sudden impact. They bend and flex like no tomorrow but if you hit an over hanging branch, SNAP! Had a rock dislodge from the rear tire on the road and it broke a big piece off a couple weeks after I installed them. The last big break where I took the passenger turn signal out was on trail 16 at Wind Rock. That trail is nasty right now. Severely rutted out. I rolled a tire off the bead in a rut which crashed the fender into a dirt wall.

LOVE that color!!!! I know this may be a PIA, but have you thought about just removing all 4 fenders when you know you're going on known trails that can cause vehicle damage? I know it sucks, but to mee the 1-2 hours removal, re install beats paying $$$$ to keep replacing fenders. Is this a consideration?

Na, never really considered doing that. At this point it wouldn't do any good. They're cut back so far nothing should get to them. They're being replaced eventually anyway with steel ones from moto built. However, I do remove my tail lights quite often while wheeling.
