On the left - removed from my wife's 2023 (yeah, 2 years late in taking it out, no biggy)My RSE power steps top gave me a great place to sit while removing the GPS units the dealer installed to upsell theft recovery services.
on the right - removed from my 2025 JTMX
Just like the one in my 2020 years ago, the OBD connector literally fell out of the bracket and part of the wiring was dangling under the dash in plain view because the zip tie install wasn't very well done. It all but fell out.
I sat on top of the RSE power steps we have on our Jeeps and it was a very easy way to work on cleaning this stuff up and getting the factory OBD II port back into the bracket where it belonged.
So, I recommend the power steps - easier to clean the windshield as you have two levels to stand on if you open the door, and it's a way to see under the dash by just sitting on the top of the step housing.
Power steps - not just for getting in and out of a Jeep.
