So I am way behind on posting upgrades…. I’ll try to catch up with my latest large endeavor which is a @Clayton Off Road 3.5-inch Overland Plus lift kit. I really like how beefy this lift kit is. I had the opportunity to see it in action on another JT in UWharrie which sealed the deal on me getting one. Here is a good pic of Samson before starting on the lift:

Jeep Gladiator Samson B033B34A-52E5-4DDC-A2E9-7EEEF8EADDB8

The Clayton lift came in multiple boxes (one I had to chase down FedEx to get..)

Jeep Gladiator Samson 41726D62-2CEA-4596-9483-150EAF9E1F90

We started by getting the front off the ground:

Jeep Gladiator Samson 4FDB5F45-189A-4755-A263-EEB7A1125464

Here is the passenger side with the stock spring and shock disassembled.

Jeep Gladiator Samson 48392410-4229-424E-ACF0-07649590EE4A

Then we changed the springs and shocks (Falcon SP2 3.3 Fast Adjust). This required an inner fender cut. The template did not work well on the passenger side(so I had to make a second cut), but the driver side was dead on. Note: I have new inner fenders with the Falcon cut in the works.

Jeep Gladiator Samson D9EC0413-5FD5-4AF8-A5E1-754BFD58CF3E

The SC heat took over and we had to adapt with a makeshift shelter from the sun....

Jeep Gladiator Samson 45592965-FEAD-4607-A324-BCB7674438B6

The driver side got the new spring and shock. Notice how the Falcon template worked so much better for the reservoir....

Jeep Gladiator Samson 3A4FFB53-3ABB-4DDD-900D-BDD544A6B795

Here is a photo of how much the passenger side inner fender template was off:

Jeep Gladiator Samson 0615F2AC-2D41-4448-BDCB-B9DB653A8891

The driver side fit well:

Jeep Gladiator Samson B89865EA-4ADD-4573-966F-BC9AA8C22D26

This is the proverbial "Carolina Squat" pose... front without the rear...

Jeep Gladiator Samson 6801EFEF-8C92-43DA-93FA-62D1737AAE06

we went to work on disassembling the rear:

Jeep Gladiator Samson 738A477F-3456-41DA-AE22-AD6887815EC0

And then S.C. reminded us we were in S.C....

Jeep Gladiator Samson 62F2DB62-E99E-410B-90DD-9A19B7AAEF9D

We worked through the rain to get the rear suspension installed:

Jeep Gladiator Samson 3704644C-B660-40A0-BB52-6F6641C08D2B

This pic is before I installed the Upper/Lower front/rear control arms:

Jeep Gladiator Samson D9C285EF-FE1A-40AA-A650-FC296F63D426

I spent time setting the the pinion angle for both the front and rear. Rear pinion angle adjustment as follows:

Jeep Gladiator Samson 153A77C8-0518-4C56-84F8-9B21A53E9720

This adjustment really impacted the Caster angle for the front (which I learned during the alignment):

Jeep Gladiator Samson F9F1D7E2-20A3-42D7-88A8-F4DE8F987DAE

This is prior to alignment. I had to adjust the steering wheel. The ESR Warning kept flashing until I adjusted the drag link to change the pitman arm angle.

Jeep Gladiator Samson 835C2129-1912-4B2F-919D-763B2F815FE1

I like the stance of this lift. Next up is a set of 37's that I have had on order from @Discount Tire since July 1.... not their fault, but tires are tough to get. Just learned today that my tire order has been pushed to October 9th. Not happy, but cannot blame Discount Tire if they cannot get my Cooper Discoverer A/T XLT 37x12.5R17s from the manufacturer.

Jeep Gladiator Samson 54B9F1B2-43F9-4A0B-8B35-8B75C3090607

Had an alignment done today. Time will tell if this was good. I had to explain the lift and the adjustability.

Jeep Gladiator Samson F7BE832D-C231-4D5B-8643-C7ADC15E35B8

Steering is a bit off, but I can adjust. The lift seems to have exasperated the steering "float", going down the road at highway speed, I seem to have a quarter turn float. Maybe this is me learning lifts and solid axles. Either way, I will continue to adjust.

To follow:
1. Install painted @ASFIR 4x4 Skid Plates
2. Install painted @Artec inner fenders
3. Install final @BuiltRight molle bed panels with tools
4. Install Yakima Overhaul rack on the Bakflip Revolver X4S from @RealTruck
5. Hopefully get the Cooper Discoverer A/T XLT 37x12.5R17 from @Discount Tire in October...

Stay tuned for more upgrades.

I also installed a set of @ORACLElights LEDs in my bed. I really like the look and extra light. I cannot wait to see how they illuminate the bed with the Molle panels and tools installed.

I finished coating my @ASFIR 4x4 skid plates today. I used a product called Steel-It that markets itself as a powder coat alternative and has 316L stainless steel flakes in it. It is supposed to be highly durable and weldable. I spent some time on the phone with their tech team asking questions and decided it was worth the gamble. I am really impressed with the finish for a rattle can (what I used). I decided on three layers. Took some time with my work schedule and ensuring proper curing between coats. I’ll post up pics once installed (hopefully tomorrow).

I am not a fan of the look of the raw aluminum under my JT. My intention is after each off-roading experience where I have rock rash, I will get under the JT, bend out any hits, sand and recoat if needed with Steel-It.

As soon as I pulled in my driveway, the original Rubicon wheels and tires were swapped for a set of Launch Edition wheels with 35-inch Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws, secured with a set of Black Gorilla Automotive Wheel Lock lug nuts ) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4VSVYG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and OEM TPMS ( https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-sensor-tire-pressure-68464665aa )

A big thanks to a lot of you that have shared a bunch of the part numbers above. There are more parts in the garage and the bed gets Bullet Liner next week - more to come!

Pardon my ignorance but does anybody know if the Mojave has an upgraded steering stabilizer from the factory?

I am not sure. I initially upgraded to the Fox and moved to the Falcon. I like the adjustability of the Falcon based on what I am doing

I liked the Fox 2.0 just fine. The only reason I switched to the Falcon is because it was adjustable (Soft, Medium, Firm). I figured I had already dropped a bunch on the adjustable Falcon Shocks (that I really like) so why not just match the steering stabilizer. Plus, I tow a camper. I like having the stiff set up for towing. For normal driving, I am on a medium setting. I can’t wait to get Samson back off-road again so I can test the Soft settings.

Here are pictures of the @ASFIR 4x4 Engine/Transmission skid plate and Transfer Case skid plate installed after coating. I still have to install my coated Fuel Tank Skid Plates. I am waiting on an answer to my question to Asfir 4x4 before installing. It appears these just go on below the existing skid plates using most of the factory bolts. I could not find any pics to ensure I was installing correctly so I paused to get better info. I am happy with the current install and how the coating came out.

Samson got a set of 37-inch Cooper Discoverer XLT AT3 shoes with new Black Rhino Rapid wheels thanks to @Discount Tire

The 3.5-inch @Clayton Off Road lift was screaming at me everyday for a larger set of tires. And YES, as you can see in the last picture, the lift allowed me to fit my 37-inch spare under the JT!

Can’t say enough good things about the customer support and service from the Tega Cay store - outstanding folks!

Note: one of the reasons that I chose this wheel/tire combo is weight. The Rapid wheel is 26 lbs and the Discoverer XLT AT is a 68 lb tire. Plus I tow a camper - the Cooper Discoverer is designed for towing. The wheel was my fourth choice wheel, but in the supply chain limited environment that we are currently experiencing - it was my best option. I really do like the wheel, really happy. Just wanted the Black Rhino Bantam or Dugger a little more.

What do those measure on your JT. I was looking hard at those before buying the Kanati trail hogs in 37 12.5 17. Can't say enough good things about them so far but still got the coopers on my radar and will be curious to know how well they ride and wear. Can't complain much since I got the Kanati's for $1,000 for 4 and discount mounted them for $179 so less than $1200 all in. Will be watching for updates as the coopers wear.

I have to measure tomorrow so I can set the speedometer with my Mini-Tazer. I'll let you know the final measurement. Per the Spec, they are 36.54-inch diameter. We'll see if that is accurate.

I'll definitely post on wear. I have been really happy with my Falken WildPeak AT3's. I can see why they have a tread wear warranty. Also another factor in the Cooper Discoverer XLT AT - it also has a 60k mi tread wear warranty. In my mind, that is a company putting their money where their mouth is....

Yep, that's why I was looking hard at them. Couldn't pass up the deal i got on the Kanati's but time will tell if they wear well or not. Currently they are riding as good as my BFG KO2s did and are as quiet. I hope that stands true 20,000 miles from now
