Screenshot grabbed from another thread. This right here. This is the problem I have with Sarge. Absolutely love the top one but I'm really not interested in the bottom one. I have seen Sarge look like both of these in person.

And I’m the opposite. Love the bottom photo, the top photo not so much.

I guess this it marketing genius because it makes it appeal to both of us? Or a fail as it appeals to neither...? :bandit:

As with many colors (Gator being one of them), sunlight plays a huge factor in the color presentation. Those two images really show 1) Avocado and 2) Forest Green colors.

The question is: do you live in a sunny area? Meaning, if you're in Seattle and you prefer the darker Forest Green or you're in SoCal and you prefer the Avocado, then Sarge is probably your color.

Yep that is quite a difference. I don't know much about modern paint colors/additives and how it all "works" but I see this same dramatic color shift on both of the blue cars we currently have as well. Depending on the level of clouds, angle of the sun, amount of sun, etc it is crazy how much they can look different. My wifes Subaru can go from a sort of light faint blue (that we both like) to almost a soft very faint purple....that was as surprise). My VW Passat can shift from a sort of bold new age electric blue to a very dark/plain blue. I guess in the end all we can do is try our best to see the colors in a wide range of light conditions before we make any final decisions.

Imagine happily ordering or purchasing one of those two colors and walking out of your house the next day to see the other one parked in your driveway.

Honestly, they are different enough that they could have done two different colors.

We have a mixture of hot weather here. Assuming they don't discontinue Sarge on me before we see one, I think it's going to come down to what a Gladiator looks like in the color I'm not a fan of. I think the Gladiator would look much better in the darker green than the Wrangler does, to me at least.

Also, take my opinion on Sarge with a grain of salt the other color I'm really interested in is Gecko.

I am in the same boat, I was waiting for Sarge and am hesitant to order. I plan to put an ARE top color matched and want to make damn sure. I have a Gobi with near enough of my specs that I need to scoop up soon if I dont like the Sarge. Mind you I have liked all the Sarge I have seen in person on the JL. Dont remember whos JT this is, which was originally granite, but all of these are the same green with brightness and contrast slightly increased. It is amazing at how much the color changes.

Love this color! If I could do it all over again, I'd order the Sarge.

That’s a great representation of what it looks like in both sun and shade. I think it looks awesome both ways especially on the JL. My dealership had a bunch on the lot and they were snapped up super quick.

Sweet rendering! This is pretty much exactly what I ordered last week. Sarge Green Rubicon diesel. Now I just need to get my top ordered.

Ok, that looks sooooo much better than the JL to me in the darker shades.
