Short of a factory option my choice would be the Bestop Core doors which are offered for the JK. Like how they can be configured with our without the center panel and also have the option of soft uppers.
Of course when you add up the price of a 4 door kit with the center panels and upper doors you are approaching factory door territory.

I definitely prefer the smooth look of half doors like the factory or the element ones but different strokes, for different folks.

Those are my goal, but as of now no plans but they are rumoring a kickstarter for it. I just don't want to wast a summer for a product that might not happen.

kickstarters are usually the full price with some kind of incentive. expect closer to 3k for the kickstarter

I would buy this factory 1/2 door for my JT! Come on Jeep, make some half doors for the JT/JL!

Any forum discount? probably better to break up the cost a bit over time. Please make the enclosures and fabric uppers !! Seems like between the JL and JT you’ll have pretty big market.

My cousin and I are contemplating building half doors from salvaged doors. We are thinking of removing the interior trim and window, chopping the upper portion, and repositioning the mid structural support.

Hinges and locks would all line up.

Would probably be somewhat pricey as JL/U/T salvage door seem expensive.

Would like to see your results. Have you seen the DCD Customs Half Door chop? They turned out really nice.
