Do it and show us the results. I've wondered about a way with them not standing upright.

Oh, and when you are in St. Augustine, say hi to my son, Luke, and his wife, E.J.

Makes me want to design my own tube doors where the outer frame is solid with a panel in the middle that could be removed that would be essentially flat. The 4 flats could just be laid in the bed with minimal effort. A soft top style window on the top of the removeable panel with a zipper. Something like this, dashed line being the center slide down section. Anyone got 1/2 a million bucks to start making them?

I was thinking of making water proof fabric (awning fabric) removable covers for my tube door and then making a upper like bestop that can be removed.
for the gaps in between the tube doors and the truck, i was going to sew in weather striping or sew in foam.
It will not be 100% but it would be better than driving in a downpour

Why? Why not store or lay them on the hinge side of the rear, latch side of the fronts, for example?
Or if a person made a rack like I envision, there could be no damage because there would be space between them (likely with a dense foam system between)
I store glass, radiators, hoods, fenders and other parts in racks I've made and never lost a part in all of the moving I used to do in years past.
I'm not talking of laying them flat so they actually rest on each other.
I'm used to packing things for international shipment so I bet I could devise a system of storage where they were not stood upright with the top up, but were either on one of the side edges (hinge side for rear, latch side for front) or some other way.
I guess I don't see these as being more at risk than other doors and parts I've removed and stowed away or even transported.

You think too complicated...
- Leave the doors at your place
- buy ear buds and a motorcycle rain combo
- drive without doors.
Have been doing this in a lotus super seven for years because I am too lazy to put the fabric roof on.....
I could do that at 25. Im over 50. Just not willing to do 3 hours at 80 mph doorless

Like this? https://www.bestop.com/products/core-doors-jeep-2007-2018-wrangler-jk/

They just need to make them for the JL/JT. if enough folks ask Bestop nicely I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige.

No doubt you could devise a rack that did not damage the doors but there are a couple of hurdles. One is the doors don't balance well, they want to roll one way or another, the second is how much space you have with just the 4 doors and no padding you are over 30 inches.
