I mean it's film, and a 2 year warranty and $600+ maybe to be installed. I only have a $50 deductible on my insurance to cover the windshield. I'm on my second replacement now but it's lasted for over a year and only cost me a total of $100 total for both. I'd have to go through some serious windshields to even reach the $500 mark. I think I'll stick to my $50 insurance claim. You guys may want to check with your insurance companies and maybe get a quote with a lower deductible. I was surprised to learn that it only made a $11 difference a month to lower mine from $300 to $50.

18k miles and I’m still in factory glass

my old JK saw 50k miles a year, only needed one windshield. (Part fell off an 18 wheeler the size of a shoe box)

This is snake oil until the actual data and science are posted.

PS you should have tighter controls in place to give actual costs if you are going to be a vendor.

PSS I bet any warranty claims will be pushed back on to the retailer because they didn’t apply it properly or to certain standards.

After my last post on this, I had to go to the website again, to see if there was info that I missed on this product. I now see multiple red flags that would make me hesitate- primarily unsupported claims:

1. 6x protection that was mentioned in this thread and online- no supporting data

2. Claim on the website of an "Industry-best warranty"- vague/general warranty coverage details when you click on "view warranty terms", and no supporting data to back their claim

3. Claiming that the vehicle will have a higher resale value if you use the film- no supporting data- huh??? Correct me if I'm wrong, folks, but I've NEVER had, nor heard of, a dealer or private party asking if a windshield was original during the sales or trade in process.

4. Claiming it will lower your insurance premiums- no supporting data- unless you have a SUPER expensive windshield, most windshield claims aren't taken into account when determining your rate, because they are comprehensive claims that are less than the magic $XXXX.XX threshold. I know multiple people that work, or worked, in auto insurance, and they will blatantly say that windshield claims don't affect your rate. Don't get me wrong, some companies will drop the name insured if they have too many claims in a short time, but a windshield protection film isn't going to keep your insurance rates low. Maybe it's different in Canada.

If anyone gives it a shot, I'd love to know how it works out for them, but it's a hard pass for me.

My wife was a insurance claim rep for 6yrs and a insurance adjuster for 9yrs for allstate and 100% comprehensive claims do not affect your rates and you would be hard pressed to find someone that's been dropped over to many comprehensive claims. The collision claims, those are the ones that get your rates hiked and get you dropped. Allstate is one of the worse for dropping folks over claims and my brother in law has probably claimed well over 11 comprehensive claims on his 2018 Silverado since he bought it in 2019 and he hasn't been dropped or seen a rate increase. I had 2 on my insurance for the windshields and my rates actually went down when I renewed in February by about $74 a month.

Yeah putting protective film on your windshield seems a little sketchy to me anyway and like you said, not a lot of supporting claims.

They were probably stoked to throw the product up here not knowing everyone on this platform is cut throat. People will definitely still buy it, just won't be me. PA comprehensive insurance with $0 deductible costs like $2/mo more than $500 deductible. Replace 325 windshields before I breakeven on $650 film.

I stumbled on this in the morning and was interested, but now that I'm seeing the cost absolutely not. I'm getting all my windows tinted + windshield with Xpel Prime XR and it's a smidge over $700. Must be some magical film with gold flakes or something. Can't imagine a single piece of film is that much for one piece of glass. Even when you factor in labor it can't possibly be harder or more time consuming then tinting interior windows.

Is there any improvement over the OEM in bug and water removal, by chance? If this film made it easier to get bugs off with just wipers, I’d be all over it

I have pretty good luck with RainX applied every couple months. Bugs come off much easier...even our "Love Bugs" down here in da Sowth will mostly clear with a few squirts of washer fluid and wipers.

Do you have to recalibrate for the Adaptive cruise control (ACC) after install? This is a big concern if it will affect the sensor behind the windshield.

I had my windshield replaced and nothing was recalibrated. Actually, according to Jeep these have a recalibrate mode you put them in and drive them and it does that for you.

How does the film deal with the friction of wipers going across it constantly?

Here, in the winter, cars toss up scum, salt and SAND, passing trucks splash slush and sand and salt on your glass. Our windshields are pretty unglossy looking after a few years here - they sparkle from being sandblasted and look dull. You can literally see scratches in the glass after winter driving.

The interesting thing is that insurance companies must know about Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator windshields as my Ford and other windshields were a FRACTION of that for glass and install and the deductible for those was pocket change. The Gladiator is our most expensive vehicle to insure, and glass is the most expensive I've ever seen. It's flat freakin' glass, unlike that huge curved F250 glass.

Yes, the acoustics have something to be desired. I don't have the headliner in mine. Not sure if it will make a difference but I have the stock Mopar one in a box in the garage with plans to install it soon now that weather is warming.

Before I ordered mine, I test drove a loaded Overland with the headliner and it seemed a bit quieter.

The one thing that I should have ordered from the factory. Live and learn.
