I had mine replaced last fall. It was better for a while then got worse over the winter - worse than the ORIGINAL steering gear! They replaced it again for me this spring and it's been great. 2nd time was a charm in my case. They said "internal fault" on the paperwork. It wandered badly.
^same with me, but I haven't had my "replacement" looked at yet.

Do you happen to have
Ok, so they just came back and are trying to tell me all is in spec and all looks good and that is has to be road crown or the 34.5 tires. That is not true, because this did not start until Friday after the new gear was installed.
I told them everything was fine on Friday before the new gear, there was no sign of pull. Just only a hair wonder / looseness in steering. Now its a constant right pull fight.

At first they told me sorry, not much else they can do. I would be ok with that, but it didnt start until the TSB update for steering.
I did go back in to the office and tell them I dont agree. They are asking me to bring it in on Tuesday 7/13 in the morning to have one of the "best guys" look at it. To quote "if he thinks its tires, then its tires". Not true, it didnt do that before friday. So does this also means that their other techs are subpar?

The dealer has been great so far, i just dont agree with their answer now after looking at this the 3rd time since 7/2. The 2 people that drove it agree that is has a pull.
Do you happen to have your stock tires, or know someone with a set you can borrow? I put my factory ones on whenever I take it in so they can't blame it on the tires. I'm going to do this when I have my box re-assessed.

This may be a stab in the dark but wondering if they replaced the track bar as per TSB? If the axle is not centered it can cause a pull like you are experiencing. Do you have an adjustable track bar?

I do, but they are not mounted on the wheels currently.

The only thing I know about replacing track bar is on early model JL wranglers. i do not have an adjustable track bar, but i dont think that would be it either. Was fine before the gear.

Maybe have them check the torque on all the bolts. Many have posted about loose hardware after the TSB, including the pitman arm nut.

Was told they checked that today as a part of going over it again. BUT, that is something i can easily do here at home.

Nothing in the JT TSBs about track bar. Not for the steering gear especially.
As long as things are pointing straight, axle off-center a bit should not cause a pull. Mine is off a bit due to spring swap and spacer installation. No pull. There's a lot of MOPAR lifts installed without trackbar changes - some do go adjustable, but that's not up to Jeep to deal with - that's part of the owner responsibility when having a lift installed.

It's not trackbar - and there's nothing trackbar related as far as TSB or otherwise for the JT. That was an issue with Wrangler a while back.
You'd have to be off by quite a bit as far as axle centering - quite a few here have lifted an inch, even more, without changing trackbars (I'm OCD enough being off very far would drive me to order a track bar if mine was off over what it's off now)

yeah, mine is off just a hair (max tow with rubicon stuff up front and 1.5 spacer on top of that). It was fine before, and pull only started after Fridays awesome TSB update. Not trackbar issue.
Though, i was told tires and the small suspension change was more than likely the cause. I said Bologna, this was not an issue until Friday after the new gear install.

Ok. Assuming no lift then. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

yes very small, not enough to warrant a track bar yet. This was a non issue with those parts in place before Friday.

Understood. It has been my experience that sometimes changing one thing can lead to unexpected consequences with something else when it comes to steering and suspension geometry. It can be fickle on these types of suspensions.

I decided to try the Fuse pull trick ive seen mentioned that worked for some. Pull fuse 34. Let it sit a while like that. Verified this took away power steering. Made sure to let it sit. Put fuse back in and went for a drive.

No change.
