Hey Guys,

I’ve been working on this problem for over a month now and found a lot of helpful threads here. But I cannot seem to pinpoint this issue. I’ll explains what’s been done and what’s been going on in detail to help explain the issue.

The problem is that I get a sudden error when driving and loss of power steering. The first error that pops up is “auto-park disabled” then “blind spot sensor disabled” all while simultaneously losing power steering.

Then the “service electronic stability control” comes up along with “until you reach your desired location do not shut off vehicle” and it can’t shift into any other gear other than the one it is in when the errors pop up.

When you turn off the truck, the only thing that will get it out of this emergency mode or whatever they call it is to disconnect both batteries. Then it still won’t let me turn the truck back on. Unless I also disconnect the ground for the whole radio and get the computer to complete reset.

The first time this happened was about a month ago. Here are the things I’ve done so far to try to fix:

1. Replaced both batteries.
2. Replaced star can bus behind give box.
3. Cleaned ground connections for power steering pump.
4. Unplugged power steering pump and plugged back in.
5. Disconnected aux battery.

When I first started troubleshooting this, I could unplug the power steering pump module plug in the star connector Canbus behind the glove box and that would make all the errors stop. Well now even unplugging the power steering module or in fact all of the modules plugged into the canbus does nothing. I have to disconnect both batteries and ground connections to get the computer to reset in order to get the truck to turn back on.

That fixes the problem for a few days or even a week at a time. But then out of the blue I’ll lose power steering and get all of the same errors at any point while driving around.

When I was able to get the errors to clear when I would unplug the power steering module from the Canbus. I thought maybe the power steering pump needs to be replaced. Maybe it’s losing power and throwing the computer off. That’s why I cleaned the ground connections for the power steering pump. And I had thought that fixed it.

Now I am not sure. Since unplugging all of the modules from the Canbus no longer resolves then error messages.

Does anyone know where I should look next? Or should I try replacing the power steering pump?

This is a 2020 Mojave.

Thank you!

I'm not asking this because I don't feel you have, but have you tried checking all of the connections after replacing everything to ensure they are all tight.

I ask because about 3 or 4yrs ago, I had the same symptoms. I checked and tightened everything myself. Or so I thought because the issues quickly came back. I decided to once again check everything. Gave the negative battery cable a little tug and it came right off. Even thought it was tight as I can get it. Went to the dealer. They removed a terminal from another jeep and that didn't help. They advised me to put a screw in it. Yep, the dealer said that. I went to the auto parts store, bought a couple shims for around $3 and problem solved.

I'll DM you the video from my youtube channel from back then and you can see what I'm talking about. May or may not be your issue, but worth checking.
