Hey everyone, I recently just got my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland and everything was perfect on it. Until recently, I was driving and all of the sudden the service warning “Service Electronic Throttle Control” popped on and the car went into Limp mode. I have already taken it to the dealership and they thought it was the accelerator pedal sensor, this fixed it for about 2 hours then the service throttle control light and check engine light came back on…. Any suggestions on what might be causing this? Could an aftermarket cold air intake effect this?
Thanks in advance.

I had that issue on a eco diesel and it went down hill from there.
Hopefully the dealer will get it fixed soon. I know the frustration!
Were they able to fix it? Or did they give you a new one? VERY frustrating for sure! Thanks for reaching out.

Nope, true story made a deal on 2020 Rebel straight Hemi 2 blocks from dealer reset check engine light put code reader in wife's purse and handed them the keys and drove home in a Rebel. With the resale so high, 2 weeks ago traded it in for a 2021 JTR. I'm so glad to be back in a Jeep.

Have owned my 2022 JTM for 3500 miles and has been to the shop twice. Once at 1800 miles and currently sitting at the dealer. First time they said it was the throttle body. So, waited on that for 3 weeks. Now here I sit. I am not a very patient person. Told my salesman to get me a trade value. Both times I was going to pass a vehicle. Not willing to risk it.

My 2022 Gladiator Rubicon was at the dealer with 311 mes on it with multible P0300 codes. They never found out why. Had it apart many times in the 31 days they had it. They put 60 plus miles on it while trying to figure it out. Light reset and didn't come back on so they returned it to me. 10 days later the CEL is back on. It has an electronic throttle control code. It's now at their shop. I am awaiting a verdict. Not real happy with fiat chyrsler....FIAT=Fix It Again Tony....

Well, I have a 2022 Gladiator Eco Diesel. The same problem has happened to me while towing my 3500 lb. travel trailer. It is (as you know), extremely frustrating. The first time, I got it fixed and now here it is again!

Have you guys been able to reach any resolution with this and if so, how? It will heavily suck if this happens every time I tow.
Thanks

So I'm on my way to Costa Rica from Ohio and got the "service electronic throttle control" error as well as traction control and stability control 3 time between Ohio and Texas. I stopped at a dealer in Ky and they read the codes but they were closing up I had a P00AF-00 DTC.

The dealer in Ohio had just completed the High pressure pump recall on my ecodiesel 300 miles prior to me leaving. This truck only had 9600 miles on it prior to the recall.

I'm pretty well loaded but not pulling a trailer. Texas and Oklahoma were both close to 100 degrees. All 3 times it's occurred have been on steep grades but I've pulled steep grades at speed with truck before without issue.

What I noticed with mine though was a significant voltage drop that I associated to a high amperage draw somewhere in the truck. Normally my voltage with AC and lights on is around 13.4 or so but then, I think it's the auxiliary cooling fan kicks on, and it'll drop to 12.7 and lower when I accelerate (which makes no sense) back out of the pedal and it'll increase to 13.2 or 3. I've seen it drop as low as 12.2.

Now I know everything should be able to operate at that voltage but maybe there's a bigger drop elsewhere that crashes these ECMs. Anybody else noticing this with there's?

It's scheduled to go into the stealership tomorrow we'll see what they say

G'Day, how did this end up? I've been seeing this error when trying to tow with my 23' diesel and haven't been able to find a solution ... anywhere. After reading this thread I inquired with the dealership and this was the reply:

"if these lights were on due to the main battery or aux battery, there would have been a stored code for "low voltage detected" and unfortunately during our scans at that time, there was no stored codes present so that rules out a concern"

What did you hear on your end Mad Mot?
