Understood. I was just wondering. Those Motobilt units look pretty cool. It’s another rabbit hole I’ve been poking my nose into lately.

I have a buddy that runs a successful social and youtube account. I think we are going to do a build video for the bed. There is nearly zero videos on YouTube for it.

Stripped the front end to install the EVO 1/4 Pounder bumper I recently acquired 2nd hand. The seller didnt have the hardware or shims. I had a less than stellar experience with EVO when I called to find out what hardware and the thickness of the shims. The person that answered the phone just said "email tech support". I did that and all the did was reply with a link to a $24 shim(6 required) and a "hardware pack"(8 bolts and nuts) for $78...

So after researching and using some visual aids from some install videos I beleive I have deduced the size of the shims and will be making them at work tomorrow and then I'll figure out length of the hardware on my own as well...

I also have started taking parts off of the rear bumper and will continue to remove parts from the bed that can be sold separate from the bed. I had a friend I wheel with alot message me and said "my whold FB feed issTrents stuff for sale" lol.

T-minus 5 weeks to SMJI. Lets hope the bed comes in soon so I can get it powdercoated and installed in time!

Its so nice to work with engineers and at a fab shop that works with heavy steel all day. One of our structural engineers helped measure and plan how to make the shims EVO wants an arm and a leg for. Cut out was used to check and make sure it all lined up. Gonna end up costing me $0!

Oh! And a big Ole fat pallet of steel showed up at my buddys shop today. Ill be going over to unbox it all this evening!

Well, my buddy is out of town and the guys in the shop had to get my motobilt delivery unloaded via forklift across the street and never had it brought over to the shop. So I didnt get to unpack it all. So I went home and took my fenders off and listed some more parts for sale on the book of faces.

Its a little more neked now.

Powdercoating of bed parts to begin tonight! Idealy I can get it all done in one evening(working with a tall skinny oven). Ill post pics of the process as it goes...

Also targeted install date for the Motobilt Bobbed bed is tentatively set for 8/8!

If I was setup to do powdercoat myself, I might use less paint.

Im glad and fortunate to have such a great friend in the guy that owns the shop im doing all this work at and ordered the parts through etc. Its allowing me to make what would be a much more expensive and harder endeavor happen. If it wasnt for his shop and use of his equipment, I would be having to look to paint or pay someone do paint or PC.
