Plus I don't want to get a real heavy tire. Like to stay closer to stock. I'm on the road 98% of the time. Really enjoy the stock ride feeling anymore

I went with 33's, 285/70r17 on my previous JK. With my Gladiator, I wanted and went with bigger! After lots of research over the last few weeks, I went with 305/70r17 (wind up about 34"x12"). Fit on the stock wheels with no lift...BUT had to do the "trim" of the bumper close-outs. Used a utility knife and the mod took me about 15 min!

305/70/17 is a good choice. Same height as a 285/75/17 but a little wider. I put 305/70/17 on my daughter’s JKU and they look great!

Here is my 21 Sport S with the max tow option....and "factory" JL Rubicon wheels and tires. I think these are a great option as you can often find them on craigslist for a heck of a deal with less than 100 miles on them. Realize you liekly meant factory JT wheels....but these are another option to consider. I got my set of 5 for $1,000 with tpms still installed and less than 200 miles or so on them.

I did the same thing with Rubi rims on Craigslist

I saw somebody above said that they trimmed their closure panels to fit their taller tires....and I've seen some Sport-S models in this thread with the closure panels still there. Those of you that kept them, do you have any rubbing at all? I just removed mine, and trimmed them down so that the fogs were covered, so I'm now debating if I get 285/70/R17's or if I can go bigger such as a 315/70/r17. Decisions, decisions.

I did not need to touch my "closure panels" with 33.1" tires, stock rims, no lift. Plenty of clearance.

No rubbing on mine with 286/75/17s on stock wheels with stock suspension or with a 1.5” lift.

Picked up my 2022 Sport S last Friday. Last Saturday installed factory black Rubicon wheels and tires I found on CL with 7500 miles for $550. Found Mopar side steps for sale on FB marketplace for $100. Loving the Gladiator!
