Well we made the trip out and had a great time at the dunes! Had the chance to meet up with some great people, fellow member @Fuji Mojave and his wife.

The Rubicon held up great on the dunes too. It's always a successful day when you can drive 4 hours, play around in the sand for 5 hours and then drive the truck home with zero problems. 😁
Here are some pics and videos of the big day.

Tell me about your flag bracket.
We have Little Sahara and Beaver Dunes in Oklahoma.

Actually, thanks to advice from @Gvsukids , if you have a factory steel bumper, if you remove the two "wing" extensions and make is a stubby bumper, then you have a perfect size hole for the flag on the top right side of the bumper, truthfully this must have been a design for functionality from Jeep because that hole is only on the passenger side of the bumper and not on the drivers side.

Looks like fun! We're going out there for the Apple & BBQ Festival in a couple weeks and plan to hit the dunes that Saturday!

Out of curiosity, did you tackle the BIG dune climb? Did you spend the whole time in 4hi?

It was a great time! Honestly when we were there it was Free ORV weekend so it was kind of busy and there were a lot of people attempting Test Hill ( the BIG Dune ) and being that this was my first outing in my truck and my first time ever driving on sand, I opted to go over Test Hill to the far right where it wasn't so high and so steep, but still a blast, maybe next time my balls will be big enough to tackle Test Hill fully.. LOL  Truthfully it wasn't the going up part that seemed nerve wracking, it was the reversing back down the hill if you didn't make it over on the first try while there was multiple trucks, cars, buggies, dirt bikes and SXS all flying past you, behind you, next to you and none of them really caring that you are trying to back down the dune straight so you don't get too sideways and roll it. The whole place was fun, but like everyone told me, keep your head on a swivel at all times because there are multiple areas that are a free for all people going in every direction.

I did spend the whole time in 4Hi but kicked over to manual shift mode and ran in 2nd gear mostly to have more control over it.

Cool write up! Can you disclose what tires and lift (if any you have on your Gladiator)?

Thanks! I am running the AEV 2 inch spacer lift and I went with Falken Wildpeak A/T4W in a 35x11.5R17 because I am still running the factory Rubicon wheels for now.

Looks great!

Were you up there when Cletus McFarland and his crew were there? There is a YouTube video or two that show them doing some chinanigans. Lot's of vehicles throwing rooster tails and flying through the air.

Thanks! Unfortunately I was not, I think they were up there the weekend before I was, but I did see all those videos and stuff tho. There was some people getting air like that tho, but nothing that crazy. Do your self a favor and drive through the little town of Silver Lake as well, you'll see some crazy set ups in people's driveways and there was one house that had a glass garage with 4 bad ass SXS all on display there, those people live and breathe the dunes! LOL

it was the reversing back down the hill if you didn't make it over on the first try
My wife still gets nervous the first time or two doing that.

Thanks for this post - Have been itching to try this place out but Dirt Road Cred just posted a video of this place a couple days ago. Their video kind of scared me away for a second because I got the impression that Test Hill was a requirement.

Appreciate the recap!
