Here is the end result. Not the best pic, was raining. Thanks Line-x of Pelham! Has the upgraded UV protective coating and lifetime warranty. Turned out awesome.

How do you like the Toyo?
The toyo open country M/T’s are awesome. They hum a little on the road but I like that. They bite well but highway ride is also good for a mud tire. They look awesome and balance out really well. A little on the heavy side but super well built. Tough tire. Love them.

Ok so after riding on this configuration for 90 days or so here is what I have learned.

The axle truss and armor really makes the front end solid. No difference in highway ride.

Steering is vastly improved, if a little heavy. There’s no slop or wander at all and it tracks straight and true. And actually with the 37’s i dont mind the heavier steering. It only adds to stability.

I dont have enough lift. Even with the 3/4 in spacers sitting on top of the mopar lift, there is just not enough clearance really. I have found that my yeti track bar makes contact with the dipstick cylinder on the front diff cover on hard bumps. Also, i have noticed that the fox steering stabilizer is making contact with the drag link at full left hand lock and that the stabilizer mount is also contacting the drag link when i hit a pretty good bump.

Whats a fella to do? Well....we are going to look at the cost of parting in a full clayton 3.5 inch lift. That should get enough room under the jeep for all of this stuff to work at full articulation without binding. We’ll see how it goes.

The guys at Elite Offroad here in Birmingham AL helped me pick a great winch combo. Went with a Warn EVO 10s with synthetic line with an Artec Industries mounting plate. Finished it off with a Factor 55 Ultrahook.

The install was straightforward. I liked the Artec plate because it allowed me to bench mount the winch onto the plate and then install. Wiring was simple, fished up inside the passenger fender. I like the low profile of the winch in the factory bumper and for a cleaner look I chose to hit the artec fairlead plate with a little bit of black bedliner paint. Highly recommend this setup, the ultrahook is super clean and has a lot of versatility.

Fit looks great. Artec website says their plate not compatible with Warn VR series winch. Did you have to do any modifications?

I didnt have an issue. The fit is tight but works and i like how it finished. No issues with the controls, spool, etc. The only thing to consider is just that the wiring is real tight as you can see. Not a big deal for my needs but maybe a consideration. Some others may have more forward placed mounting. As you can see, there is room in the bumper to go closer to the bumper.

Looking like I will be going with an @claytonoffroad overland plus setup. I already have their LCA’s and a Yeti track bar so we’re looking at just building around that to go to 3.5 inches of lift. Just need to pick the shocks and determine if we need to keep a small puck in there for the winch weight.

I’m excited. Should fix the mild contact we are getting with the RPM stuff out front on the mopar lift. I wasnt planning on this expense but jeeps are never done and anything that hauls my family needs to be done right.

This sets me back on tire carrier and rock rails for a while as I am sure a driveshaft will need to be contemplated up front soon.

Elite Offroad in Chelsea Alabama is advising and installing for us. They have been great for us.

Parts ordered:
- Clayton overland plus 3.5” kit minus Front LCA’s and front track bar (already have clayton LCA’s and yeti track bar)
- fox 2.0 shocks with 28.45 in extended reach (for 3-4 inches of lift)
- motobilt front diff cover (the ARB makes contact with my track bar at the dipstick)

Scheduled install for 9-22. All mopar lift components will come off.

Just a small update. We’re going to add a front driveshaft to this build. @Clayton Off Road told me via email the 3.5” overland plus kit will put this jeep in the neighborhood of 4.25” total suspension lift. I don’t want to be the guy with all the shiny new parts that breaks on the first obstacle. Jeep deserves a complete approach.

Trying to decide between Adams and Tom Woods. 1350. Gotta wait for the lift to measure for shaft length.

Cool Rig @Silvertruck
The 3.5"will put the Jeep at 4.25" higher? Might have to change my order to the 2.5" if that is the case. Why put 3.5" in the name of the kit if its actually over 4"? lol

I’ll use this thread to document install notes and reviews on my new 2020 JT Rubicon.

First Mods (Dealer Installed):
Mopar (Teraflex) 2 inch spring lift
Mopar Spec Fox Shocks
37x12.50x17 Toyo Open Country MT’s
17x9 Fuel Kicker Wheels

Lots of folks have the lift. Its great. Real stars here are the wheels and tires. Tires balanced out great, lots of bite. Good bit of tire noise but fits the character of the jeep. Lots more to do, this is just a start. Excited to get this going.
