Not too sure where to post this or if this is useful to anyone else. It's also not really a mod so I figure general might be a good spot for this.

I was searching for a bed separator or a cargo net. Most are too flimsy, generic, expensive, or over priced. After digging around the web for a ideas I finally found a short clip on how to tie a cargo net with a single uncut rope so I decided to make one since I already have some ropes sitting around.

Here is the instructions :

I did have to deviate slightly from the video above as I felt the instructions weren't complete.

Basically I tied 4 double overhand knot as the starting point, like a spine.

After that I just followed the video and tie the Cow Hitch at every loop.

The way I size the loop is to go to the middle of the next loop and tie a Cow Hitch there. I basically eyeballed the next position, hence the uneven loop sizes

I kept going until the rope almost runs out. I kept a couple of feet of rope and make it into a several double overhand so that it is adjustable how close the net should be attached to the metal ring at front of the bed by the bulk head.

The end product seems usable, but the size of the loops isn't uniform. This is my first try, hopefully subsequent ones will be better. Since it's a single rope, you can untie the whole thing and have a long and strong rope for emergency situations.

Edit: Fixed some grammatical error

I want to see some gear netted down in the bed. Carabiners and some trucker hitches to cinch it all down.

I've been interested making a net of amsteel for those challenging recovery situations like sand and rocks, something like fill the net with rocks when there are no trees or netting a boulder. But then I never seem to get stuck there. But it's a great skill to know and I'm so happy to see I'm not the only one.

Strapped down some tool boxes.

I have the trail rail system so the top carabiner, I hook it to the trail system

The bottom I hook it to the loop by the bulk head. The loops provide some adjustability

Between the trail rail and the bottom loop, there are a lot of flexibility with how much cargo you want to secure. Below are a few other tests.
