Sitting in 2 feet of water for days

Unfortunately my truck is sitting in a parking lot in south Florida and I am out of town. I’ve heard there’s about 2 feet of water in the parking lot. I know they are certified to 30 inches of water when fjording, but what about when parked with the motor off? Is it the same or is it worse because there isn’t pressure on the seals keeping the water out?

Definitely check the diff fluid. Axle seals can allow seepage. Brakes will likely be rusty so be prepared for that.

If its above the door sills you are screwed. Outside stuff is better able to manage.

Change all the fluids, except maybe brake fluid, and the mechanical stuff should be ok.

Where is it sitting? At the airport? Biggest areas hit is Fort Laud around broward blvd and las olas. I'm in Pines and we're good. Doubt the 26" is going to sit long as they're trying to get water pushed out.

Ooohhh. If you're west of 95, you MIGHT be good but others have solid advice to check diff fluid. Wish I was heading north or I'd check -- work in Doral. Good luck and stay safe.

Free undercarriage wash. Looks significantly lower than 2 feet though so you should be pretty good

Yeah, that water will drain off fairly quick. Irma had about 12 inches of water on my street, drained out within hours after the storm.

These are the only pictures I can find. Ones in lot and other one right outside. I don’t think it looks too bad. Lot of water but not that deep.

Depending on what kind of insurance you have you may want to file a claim before you do anything or even try to move it. Whether the Jeep can handle it or not insurance may total it out or pay for repairs.

Yeah, seals may hold the water out unless there was enough temperature change to create enough of a pressure difference in the differential housing vs. outside pressure.
Cheap insurance to change the diff fluid.
Likely ok, but for the tiny cost in time and materials, I'd do it.

Be careful about how and who you report any issues to lest it be flagged as a flood vehicle. Often they are just fine if it's not any deeper than this, but............
