Ok - I’m ready to move in from my MTs. I realize my gladiator lives primarily in the street and dirt roads.

I’m moving to the Toyo AT III on a 17x9 rim with +01mm off set.

I don’t tow anything of significance either.

the question would you buy the:

35x12.5 x17 E rated

or

35x11.5 x17 C rated

The choice would be dependent on the intended USE.. Load E for more Rock Crawling .. Load C a softer ride not as firm a Sidewall.

Given you said it's basically street and dirt I'd go load c out of those options. I had load e on the Ram 1500 and even with it's cushy suspension the Es were stiff. Personally I moved up to 37x11.5 load D instead and am super happy with it.

I would go with a 17x8.5 rim with +18 or +25 offset with the 35/11.5 LR C tire. IMO 9” wide rims are too wide and not ideal for that size tire.

As with changing rims, I already own them. They worked great for 315/70/17s.

I maybe better off selling everything and starting over.

I may need to give AEV a call.

No interest in 315/70r17 bfg ko2s in load c(raptor tires)? 9 inch would still work for an 11.5 plenty fine.

Whichever is cheapest. I can’t tell a difference between E and C.

C rated tires are lighter and have better sidewall compliance which will offer a more comfortable ride on the paved roadways.
E rated tires are heavier and have less sidewall compliance, not to mention the additional unsprung weight which adversely effects braking and suspension.

looking to try something different than a BFG and I’d prefer a narrower tire too.

Thats fair, I love the narrower wheel look honestly so more power to you.

I actually went with the grabber atx and they have been absolutely amazing. Best AT tire i've ever had out of BFG Ko and Ko2, Nitto Terra Grappler G2, and Cooper At3 XLT but i dont think they make a load C 35 unfortunately.

Well I followed none of the great advice. Not because I didn’t believe you but rather out of convenience.

So I got the 35x12.5 r17’s E rated.
I’m sure the C’s would be plush but the ones I got are narrower than the 315’s and ride so much quieter.

50 mile street verdict is an A.

granted I swapped out E rated Falken MTs

315/70/17s and 35 12.5 17 tires are pretty much universally considered the same size and usually are.

agreed and thanks

I was referencing the initial post comparing the 11.5 inch toyos C rated vs the E rated 12.5’s

The 12.5s do measure slightly narrower than the 315’s

Not a review but damn. Just ran the Toyo’s AT III 35x12.5r17 E rated 800 miles today on the interstate from Milwaukee to KC.

what a smooth and quiet tire that track straight as an arrow.

It took me a bit for dial-in the PSI. I’m running them 28 PSI cold and ran hot at 32.

smooth compliant and responsive.

I can’t wait to see how they perform in the Midwest winter.
